Most of my favorite sound effects come from Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge. The game boasts many distinct, memorable and very fun sounds. Among them (I sorely wish that the Seige Vessels like the Soviet Dreadnought and Allied Carrier had) certain units have an all-team callout, to indicate they're on the battlefield, as a warning because of their power level, such as Tanya, Boris, Navy SEALs, Kirov Airships and the Yuri Floating discs for example.
But most of all, I like the Aegis Cruiser and the Mastermind.

Everything from this site.

Can you really make anything more memorable than painfully bad voice acting?

For me It was the catchy tune that played whenever i paused during a game of Battletoads on the NES

sure it was annoying but it was catchy enough to mellow me out after wanting to destroy my NES from getting killed so many times during the play

if it counted all the music from the old sega genesis game ristar but thats bgm so it dont count god ummmmmmm........id have to say my favorite sound is the reaction to any character of any game that just then realized that the grenade i threw is about the fuck them up the ass like a child rapist on halloween. my favorites (in no particular order) include the combine from half life 2 --- "SHIIIIIT" and the grunts from the halo games. --- "OH GOD NOOOOOOOO" and "NOT AGAIN!" there are more but it would be a bother to list them all.

OH and I cant leave out the things that the turrets say from Portal. because Ive never felt so bad about killing an inanimate object before in my whole life.
