I like to watch TV. As doing so you WILL no matter what run across commercials, and there is a high likelihood that you will run across the guilt commercials.
The commercials saying "For only one dollar you can save tis childs life"
Now these commercials are for a good cause, but the amount of depression they give you is insane.
I was watching Cartoon Network with my little cousin and one popped on.
Every scene was a person crying or dead.
I don't think that my cousin will be the same.
So what do you think of the depression commercials? Do you think that they should be a little less, I don't know depressing?

I used to find some of the NSPCC adverts rather funny.... I know, I manage to be sick and weird at once. And I always used to notice that the PS2 the kid was playing was Tony Hawks 2!

OT: Yeah, they do suck. They are too... in your face. If COKE did that I have no idea what would happen

Those ads can fuck right off. Especially those ones where they show cute little animals in danger, starvin' and shit.
LOOK AT THE KITTIES.

They are a scam. They are not charities, they are corporations. The percentage of money that actually gets to these children is staggering, and not in the good way.

On a side note, why should we care about this shit? We have bigger problems in our own countries (wherever you are from).

Yea those always piss me off because they're depressing. Also those commercials can sometimes last more than an minute which also pisses me off.

I know those things. I hate them.

Our country doesn't even have national health care, we are trillions of dollars in debt, our prisons are overcrowded, and they have the nerve to try to guilt us into caring a bout a country that'll only be fucked up by another warlord or disease when our backs are turned.

I'll worry about my country first, then I'll worry about yours.

Yeah, those adverts can fuck off. I'm trying to watch comedy and they try to depress me in the middle of it. I vote with my feet by not giving charities that do it any money.
This is all anyone need say.

If we think of money as water, and those poor countries as buckets full of holes, well, the bucket isn't going to fix itself if you keep pouring more water. I think it'd be better if we could maybe send in some ninjas to assassinate the corrupt leaders and then kill all the people that think it's a great idea to run into a village full of innocent people and start hacking their limbs off with machetes.

It honestly doesn't bother me at all.

It may sound harsh, but all the pain of the African people rolls right off my back. I have my own family and my own problems and in the end I only care about them.

I'm all for donating a small amount to save someone's life, but when advertisements deliberately aim at my consciousness I get angry. I'd rather see the effects of other peoples' donations in the commercials rather than their current misery.

Right on the nose, my friend, right on the nose. But you forgot to mention Uganda and their anti-gay law.

Yes, let's give them our money.

Don't really care about them. They're nothing compared to the horrible voice-over commercials.
