Years ago, when I was a cynical teenager, I hated musicals simply because... Well, I was a teenage guy and they're "musicals".

Now, I'm planning on being in one... Once I work a bit on my singing voice. Oh, what live theater and maturity can do to a person :p
Awwwwwwwww.....

I wish I could sing. I would absolutely LOVE to be able to do that. Unfortunately, after someone heard my singing, they passed "Brian's Law", which specifically states that my singing is considered cruel and unusual punishment. I thought they were going a little far passing a law so I wouldn't sing but I guess since they were pushing for the death penalty, I should be grateful...
I'm actually not sure how good my singing voice is (don't do much singing when I'm not alone :p), but I was asked by several of my fellow actors if I would do a musical (not a specific musical). I told them I would need a little bit more theater experience before trying to combine acting and singing. Shame, because they were having auditions for a production of Little Shop of Horrors.

We'll just have to see how well I can sing.

And passing a law against your voice? Wow, how bad do you sound? XD

If you like that, I heartily recommend the movie Summer Wars. It's written by the guy who wrote the Digimon movies, but with an original universe. It's pretty similar in terms of plot, and even has some similar scenes, because it's the story he wanted to tell initially.

And the dub isn't screwed like the Digimon movie :D

OT: That said, I honestly can't think of a pleasure I'm guilty about. I'm fairly comfortable in my liking of things.
I am actually aware of Summer Wars, but I haven't seen it yet. I think it was on Netflix at some point, bu it isn't there anymore. :(

I enjoy games involving fishing and golf and I have absolutely no idea why. As a 20 year old female with absolutely no interest in other sports this tends to be surprising to people.

I also kind of like Dashboard Confessional. Sue me.

I still love this movie. Even if only for one scene. The single, greatest curb-stomp fight in the history of anything. I STILL get chills down my spine, every time I watch this part:

That scene pretty much made the movie for me to, and Omnimon is still one of my favorites, behind Wargreymon.

as for me? Bloody Roar 3.

It's a total button masher fighter, with some rubber banding issues, don't care, it lets me beat the shit out of a lion with a bunny, and I love it for it.

G-Gundam, but then, how can you NOT love G-Gundam, sure, it's stupid, and campy and goofy as hell. Don't care, it's fun, and given how 'uber srsy' Gundam is the rest of the time, it's nice there's one entry that just kicks back and has fun.

Edit:
two more came to mind.

Limp Bizkit,
yup, them, Significant Other is still on of my favorite CDs ever to. Even picked up Gold Cobra a little while back, which wasn't bad.

Witchblade, the anime.

yup, liked this to, yeah, it's dumb, and fanservicey, but it's one of the few anime I actually cried at the end of D: hell, you could almost throw Highschool DxD on with this to, but there was that fight scene at the end that was just fucking awesome XD

Until earlier this year, everything anime was a bit of a guilty pleasure. I seemed to have some crippling fear that if anyone caught me watching it they'd make me wear a big hat with "OTAKU" written across it and I'd have to parade around town and everyone would laugh at me. Or something.
Then I found out one of my best friends, who seems to do nothing out of the social norm, watches Azumanga Daioh and it made me feel better about watching it.

Despite that, One Piece and Dragon Ball Z are still the only things I'll openly admit to watching, anything "slice of life"-ey is still off limits. Only thing I've started watching that's even in that ballpark is Nichijou, and even then I'm having to wait until the wee hours of the morning to watch it to make sure my dad doesn't come downstairs and I have to somehow explain to him why I'm laughing at a bunch of little girls.
Or he might make me wear the hat again.
Oh how I wish just one of my friends watched anime.

I got hooked on anime at the end of last year and I still haven't told any of my friends. I think various members of my family know since they've seen some of the DVDs in my room but not a single friend of mine has any idea. It really shouldn't be considered a "guilty pleasure", but with how I reckon my friends would react I think of it as one. When my friends come over (very rare) I actually grab all of my anime DVDs and put them in the back of my cupboard for fear that they'll root through my drawers and find them.

Other than that? Nothing much, I do have a bunch of Pokemon songs and anime opening songs on iTunes and my phone though, which I'd also really like to not let my friends see.

Good sir, G-Gundam does NOT count as a guilty pleasure, how DARE you insinuate otherwise!

G-Gundam is 100% pure grade awesome, through and through. It is the fucking MANLIEST shit ever. It's a story about MEN. Doing MANLY things. With MANLY giant robots!

No one should EVER say they feel ashamed of G-Gundam.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I just realized that you can't have a guilty pleasure thread without mentioning this:

God, I wish you hadn't.

OT: I have unabashedly watched almost every season of Power Rangers in the last couple months. And I like beat-'em-ups like Dynasty Warriors and pretty much any type of twin-stick shooter. And the Crank movies. And I love 2gether's "The Hardest Part of Breaking Up (is getting back your stuff)" as seen here:

I'm aware of the idea of using boilerplate pop to parody boilerplate pop is kind of dumb, but I like dumb silly things sometimes. See also: My previous stance on the Power Rangers.

In fact, if we're talking boy bands, this song makes me laugh every time....

"Don't deny that when we touch it's physical."

As opposed to what? Lyrics so bad I smile every time.

Come at me, bros!

Yes, I know the 'plot' is absurd, the acting was a bit shit, and it's the Spice Girls.
There was a plot? And acting? And the Spice Gi...Oh, wait, that last one is sort of a given.

As in, the whole thing.
That should NEVER be considered a guilty pleasure! You take that back!

I should buy the soundtrack again.
I heard the Queen cover and wanted to punch kittens for a week. oddly enough, I'm largely ambivalent towards musicals, so it's not an overall hatred of the genre. I just can't stand Moulin Rouge.

I sit corrected, but I must correct you, I feel no shame in enjoying the things mentioned.

Shame is a sign of Weakness, and weakness is not manly! You can't beat up giant robots with a scarf or punch holes in reality it self if your not manly!

...I love musicals.

Moulin Rouge is my super guilty pleasure. I freaking LOVE that movie and am amazed at how great a voice Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman has (supposedly it is them actually singing).

I should buy the soundtrack again. What a great movie...

Same here. Rock of Ages is my newest guilty pleasure. Julianne Hough is really hot and Tom Crews can actually sing (He spent 8 months with a voice coach before filming, mind you). Plus all the 80's rock is awesome.

Grease is also a classic.
