I'm a fairly quiet person on The Escapist, and so this is my first thread.

Now I have been a big fan of the .hack// franchise for a long time now, and I have gotten all the anime. But the trouble is, the games are impossibly hard to find anywhere. I have Infection, and am now wondering where I could get the others without having to order them online, using that only as a last resort. I live in Australia, so probably only Australians will be able to help me out here.

Much appreciated for your input.

There's your problem. It's highly unlikely you'll find them anywhere except online. Your best bet otherwise is to hit every single games retailer in your area and make sure to *ask* the guys rather than just look at the shelves to see if it's out there.

But you're probably a lot better off with Amazon or eBay or similar.

Alright, I will be searching everywhere. A store down the road said they had a pack with every single game in it for like $300 but sold it the week before :/
The only reason for the no online thing is because I have no means of buying it myself, and I will have to find a PAL version, damn PS2 regions.

Seem to be a few on Amazon UK, so try your Amazon or Ebay as Amnestic says :)

Really? They're pretty easy to come by round here.

Just rather expensive.

Never played them myself though. Are they really that good?

Oh and sorry to derail the thread, OP :p

I have them and they are really good, but it does feel a bit like a bit like one game stretched too far by the time you have played past the second one...........

Hm...the games are very story oriented aren't they or can one just be played as a stand alone?

The only place I see them now is on eBay. And I don't believe they come cheap anymore, either. Last I looked it seemed they have quite a following, and that had driven the price up. Same thing happened with a copy of Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete I was looking at. A PSOne game that was going for nigh well $200 a year ago. Honestly, a game I liked for the story, but didn't $200 like. Now replace that game with just about any of the .hack series.

Eh. That's no big deal. I'd rather it be long than be short.

Just pisses me off when I buy a game that turns out to be only 10 hours long or less...*stares at Bioshock and RE5*

Haha that's okay, thank you for the consideration though :p

I don't know how things work in Australia, but some game stores will buy the game from a site online in exchange for what you would have to pay, plus some kind of fee or something. I know my local gamestop has done it a few times for myself. (sucks thought paying 15 for a game that, had it been sitting on the shelf, would have been 5)[/quote]

Yeah I tried about a year back to order one in from my local Gametraders but they didn't even have the game in the system. I think I'll give GAME or EB a try tomorrow.

I think they are good enough to be searching crazily for, though my friends would disagree :p

Sounds like a plan. Though getting to wherever you live might be a problem :p

Good luck man I've been scouring gamestop for years to find GU. I was lucky to find the first .hack.

Go to user search. Type in Haseo21. Tell him Xero Scythe sent you, and tell him what you want. I would recommend gamestop; I got all 7 (Including G.U.) that way without going online. But Haseo is the biggest .hack fan here, and could tell you how to get the games in Ant-freakin'-artica.

Thank you very much, will be trying that now.
