what was the hardest gaming adversary you ever beat
it could be a boss an enemy type or even someone online but in your mind they live in infamy

mine is the gargoyle from the first kingdom hearts known for his extremely cheap insta kill attack that he does OVER AND OVER AGAIN

it was more luck than skill i was able to beat him

The Abaddon in FFX. My party was seriously ill-prepared and (FFX's version of) under-leveled to take on one of the monster-capturer guy's most powerful monsters. The first time I fought him, I learned very quickly that its ultimate attack obliterated my party so I was keen on avoiding that blast a second time. I used Yuna's Aeons to absorb the blast while I slowly chipped away at his health with the rest of my party. The battle took only about 15 minutes or so but we were almost dead, Yuna had no Aeons left, and Abby was charging up for the attack that would have finished us off. Hell of a battle.

Second place goes to Yuffie's father in the Pagoda temple in FFVII and bronze goes to the final boss of Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits.
