Haze.

really, if don't take it 'seriously' like so many people do with FPS games, you'll find it's quite worth the 29.99 they sell it for now.

Dark Cloud for the PS2. can be a bit repetitve but it's also so addictive. Especially when you're trying to get all the ultimate weapons and have to spend ages running around and upgrading the weapons. Hours upon hours lost there.

Ico and Okami were both wonderful but seemed to be largely overlooked by people.

The ending of ICO is one of gaming's finest 'out of the box' moments.

The Witcher, especially the Enhanced Edition. It is without a doubt the best RPG I've played since at least KOTOR.
I have to disagree with you on 2 accounts here, first one being that the witcher is even remotely obscure with 1 mil+ copies shipped and the second that it's worth the plastic the box is made of. CPR released a "no drm" statement and then promply shipped TWEE with starforce on it. And the fact that they would have made me pay twice because i couldn't register my copy of the original game at their website doesn't improve it a bit. Then came a statement saying that they basicly released the shitty pc port a few years in advance instead of by the time the sequel comes arround and the console version will be better in every single aspect and we have been paying to play a beta for a product we aren't going to see. Those kind of dick moves completely override any merits the game would have had on it's own.

Back on topic, Dwarf Fortress(pc). It's freeware too and can be found at www.bay12games.com with the wiki at www.dwarffortresswiki.net Trust me, you'll need the latter alot.

And Rise of Nations(pc)

Space Station Silicon Valley, Body Harvest, Blast Corps, Winback, Conkers Bad Fur Day...the 64 seemed to collect gems. Psychonauts, Eternal Darkness, Hunter The Reckoning, Killer 7 and Dark Messiah are all damn good as well.

Anyone remember an Xbox game called Sudeki? While it was short the actual locations and the story were excellent. When i first played it I actually said "I wouldn't mind living here" when I got to New Brightwater

Mischief Makers, back for the N64. The writing and story sucked, but the gameplay was amazingly fun (in my opinion, at least), and the music was kinda catchy.
That game was really really good. I particularly liked the yellow gemstone challenge, especially the ones involving bosses where the only way to get it was to beat them without getting hit. Lunar took AGES to beat doing it that way. Great fun though.

Original War.

RTT game that I have loved for at leat 8 years now, kept me coming back for more.

That game in my opinion is a true hidden gem because NO ONE here has heard of it. Go on, prove me wrong.

The others which people have heard of but are not mainstream are Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, and Fahrenheit.
