so recently i went to my local game store and found a FPS that had completely gone unmentioned anywhere...it went by the title Legendary and to honest the description on the back of the box made it look like it could e interesting similar to how the first bioshock caught me off gaurd a bit but i played it and i found it be quite a fun game...you have no idea how satisfying it is to gun down griffins and werewolves with high powered missile launchers....anyone else have this experience of finding a hither unmentioned and alien game and then find ing it to be a gold nugget of an experience?

Back when I had a gamecube I found chibi-robo in a game store discount bin. After weeks of playing it I learned that I freaking loved it!

I also bought Black for the ps2 for about... £1. Closing down sales are brilliant

I remember finding Mech Commander Gold in Tesco's when I was a kid, figured I'd give it a go. Freaking loved that game.

Also OP, I think you might be the only person in existence who liked Legendary XD

I found Snatcher in a discount bin when i was 11. It has been one of my favourite games since and even managed to become my avatar on here.

I was well pissed when i had to pay nearly 80 pound to get another copy almost 15 years later!

Although it isn't the same "gold" your talking about I found Terminator Salvation in a discount bin. i figured the movie was crap but that was bad storytelling surely the games action would be fun. It was pure shite. BUT [sub]here's where the gold part comes in[/sub] the game only has 11 achievements which add up to 1000 gamerscore. All achievements are gained just from finishing the story mode. Easiest 1000 gamerscore ever.

though I originally played both of these by renting them randomly from blockbuster, I did later manage to pick them both up in a bargain bin and very few people seem to have heard of these two gems

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath
Whiplash

both for original Xbox
there's a used game store by me that's basically a giant bargain bin, it's pretty great :b

I can't even remember the name of the game but i once found this really bad ass side scrolling shooter for about 4 bucks at a staples. It quite honestly was one of the coolest games i ever played. Sadly i lost it after i upgraded my computer and it didn't allow it to work.

Ever since i lost my original Morrowind disc. I was looking for another, online i only found used or Goty versions.
One day i walk into a toystore and i find a sealed original copy of the game for 3 euro's!
I felt like i just robbed the toystore and they didn't even know it.

I've seen Alone in the dark special edition (In the big fancy glowy box-thing and everything) for 15 Euro, but i'm hardly gonna buy that. I got Splinter cell Chaos theory for 10 pounds, does that qualify....?

Same. 3 euros for the GOTY, though I already had Morrowind and Tribunal. In the same rack, they had Bloodmoon separately... for 5 euros.

... Yeah, I just went with the GOTY alright.
