*I already bought it in a retail store for $49 hug*

Besides, when we had the sales over December/into early January, New Vegas dropped to the low, low price of $67.

*Almost half price is almost half price hug*

It's a pretty fun game from what I've played, although I liked the exploration more in Fallout 3. Fallout 3 was, "I wonder what's over there? A bunch of raiders and some mirelurks? Hmmm, I can take them so long as I don't do anything stupid" whereas New Vegas is like, "An unexplored location on my compass? I think I'll head towar- oh yay, a pack of feral ghouls/a deathclaw. Why even bother letting me explore at the start if you're just going to fill the whole area with enemies that make it extremely annoying to do anything but the main storyline quests?"

I've encountered more freaking deathclaws and feral ghouls than fucking raiders so far.

*Then its not a good game hug*

Thats the very problem right there. If the game is going to punish you for being an open world game to level you up a certain way, then the game is done wrong, and isn't fun. I know that I wandered around a very long time in 3 so far, and I have been able to take care of myself in just about every situation that comes up. If I ran into a deathclaw right off the beaten path in the beginning, thats just bad game design, and frustrating.

So yeah, like I said, not worth the price vs enjoyment factor.

*Oh, it's still a very fun game hug*

Everything else has been improved, it's just that exploration is a little more limited at the start because things like giant radscorpions, feral ghoul reavers and deathclaws are near a large number of the locations just off the beaten track. Some of what New Vegas does is better, whilst some of what Fallout 3 does is better, but they're both fun games.

*Ooh, discussion in this thread hug*

[sub]I'm personally totally out of the Fallout series. I should get 3 at some point but I just don't have the time/money for a big game experience right now. Sticking to my DS at the moment.[/sub]

*Fun times hug*

@Steppin: Well, if you think so. I just hear so many glitches that really screw things up, as well as monsters in the beginning being able to rip you to shreds by wandering around sounds very unappealing to me.

@Red: Ah, handhelds, always a good place to go for good entertainment. I still pick up my GBA from time to time. Good times.

*Lose? hug*

Yeah, I know what you mean. I tend to jump online to pull things together for a bit. Just kind of part of what I do now.

*I don't really play RTS games with mates hug*

I generally like to play them at my own pace, so if I do end up playing one with a friend it's only against the bots.

*What happened mostly that night hug*

Yeah, playing against others wasn't that great. Especially when they figured I was too good and gave me a "Standard" bot ally to fight all three of them. I didn't stand a chance.

*I see hug*

I just don't put enough time into RTS games to get a lot better at them. I generally stick to playing against bots on normal difficulty and leave it at that. Personally, I blame the old days of Age of Empires 2 and the obsession with building defences everywhere that that game started.

*Defense Guru hug*

I am a huge guy on defenses.....and I'm terribly rusty at playing them, but I still somehow shake off all the rust and just go to town on everyone instantly
Just something I can do, I guess

*Indeed hug*

I mostly sink all my time into shooters and JRPGs, amongst all the various anime and manga I watch/read, so my RTS skills are "normal difficulty or die painfully fast".
