Take a shot when:
It's a first person game.
Yeah, first person
It's being 'filmed' like Slender.
Bonus shot if the screen turns blurry or static when you're being damaged.
You're totally defenseless
No actual enemies in the first episode. As for the second onwards, well, let's just say there's a reason for our young protagonist to feel scared. And she doesn't have any kind of weapon (well, not a PHYSICAL weapon at any rate ;D)...
You don't walk or run that fast.
Averted - she'll travel at jogging pace. Maybe I could add a sprint button at some point though...
Miss shot if the game does have a 'sprint button'
The game is based on a urban legend.
Take another shot if it's a Japanese urban legend (They know how to do it)
Take yet another if the game is based on a Creepypasta or an SCP
Chug the friggin bottle if the enemy is based on Slender Man.
The game is unwinnable or has a cliffhanger
Six different endings and all of them are cliffhangers. Which then segue nicely into Episode 2, since all six endings are contradictory to each other and yet all are canon. How is that possible? If anyone wants to help me make this game, then people will find out when they play it...
Bonus shot if the player character dies.
Take a sip when there is a jump scare
Extra sip for every scare cord
Sanity comes into question
Again, yes, but ultimately not the real issue...
The game has a plain, game over screen with no music or anything else of note.
Take a sip if they game uses the Unity Engine
Again, most likely yes
It's a puzzle game
Yes, based on the Myst/Rhem/Syberia games and their ilk
It's a "find the thing" game
