lol yeah maybe I need a more of a serious avatar for when I say something involving nudity and violence but under all that there's a serious, some-what dark tone to it
I'm really fine with the first season as it was. There was plenty of comedy and parody, the frequent fourth wall breaking in particular, to make me feel satisfied with it.

I was to. It is to this day one of my favorite comedies. It was the 2nd season that bothered me. I still really liked it, but they basicly rebooted the series and went with the manga stoyline. (So I heard, never read it.) I kind of thought it was much better the first time around. They would follow the story when it was convenient. Though I did like the new (to the anime) characters. It was like two different animes. Like Fullmetal Alchemist and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.
[Edit] I did like the graphic upgrade in the 2nd season though. GitS also did that. That was another good anime.
Also I have to ask. Did you watch it censored or uncensored. (Both were avaliable on the DVD) I though it was funnier censored. They just handled it so well. Even the censor was sometimes part of the joke. (Like in the first episode)
Watching a few at the moment, but the last one was Black Lagoon. I'm on to the Second Barrage disks right now, and the short arc with those Romanian kids, damn that's a brutal ending.
I think the last anime I saw in full was the movie "The Girl who Leapt through Time".
I've been slowly working on Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood. It's not that I don't like it, it's just that I have a hard time watching stuff by myself (I'd usually rather be reading or gaming), and my only anime-liking friend for miles has already seen every available episode
I think the last series I completed was "Mirai Shounen Conan" (Future Boy Conan), something Hayao Miyazaki worked on in the late 70's. It's a silly show, but it's a heck of a lot of fun - the title character can throw spears, catch fish and pierce steel using just his toes.
Jaw-dropping Blu-Ray goodness... This series has always been fascinating to me, and the first time I saw it was on a badly-ripped VHS... Then DVD... Now this HD splendor in re-done presentation.
Is it possible to experience a sensation akin to orgasm with one's eyes?
the the one i wathed would be Bleach, last might. i stopped watching it for about 18 months (not because i stopped liking it but because of other stuff, like Inuyasha) and i got back into it a couple of weeks ago and i'm gradually catching up. they put on WAY too many comedy scenes during fights which kinda ruin it but it's still good.
Probably an episode of that one with the dog demon---what the fuck was his name again? It was on Cartoon Network. 2003, before the girl who made me watch it with her broke up with me.

The most recent new (to me) anime would be metropolis, a really great movie that I recommend to anyone that hasn't seen it(and I demand all those that viewed it to watch it again). If recent as in glanced over on T.V., then the Adult Swim saturday night schedule.
I have just re-watched an old classic "Wrath of Ninja".
It's an old anime movie (I'm a big fan of late 70s-early 90s anime style, it's more angular then what we get nowadays, and it's kind of cool) about, well, ninjas.
It was made in early 80s if I'm not mistaken, and it somewhat belongs to that category of movies that are so bad they are actually good... The animation and combat scenes are decent, but the actual plot of the movie is very disconnected. There are actually ALL the ingredients for a great story in there, but whoever produced that movie managed to absolutely fail at every attempt of weaving it all into a great story.
So you end up laughing your ass off at the movie trying to make you feel something and failing horribly. Like, this would be a spoiler, but
A sister of one of the protagonist who then supposedly bonds with the other protagonist and gets killed off. It might have been an emotional scene, if their only conversation didn't happen literally a minute before she gets killed saving the protagonist. They didn't even exchange any dialogue aside from "hello" and some small talk at that point. And the movie is strangely organized, too. And there was a would-be great existential conflict between 2 of the three protagonists... If they ever bothered. The botched result was just some angst in 3-4 sentences that didn't really get anywhere afterwards.
. And there's probably only about 1 page, 2 at most, of dialogue in the whole hour and a half movie. And yes, that would include ALL the dialogue, including "Ohs" and "Ahs" and more comprehensible grunts during fights.
And at one point, a female character's clothing spontaneously combusts for little logical reason. Well, fine, there WAS a magical ninja explosion... But she was not burnt at all, despite all her clothing being blasted off and nearby land scorched of everything.
It's highly amusing, and the effect is even better when you're with friends, drunk, or stoned.
And one last thing, some of the monsters would totally qualify for the mind fuck awards.
I searched if youtube had the movie, but apparently some genius posted the first part with some horrible music instead of the actual sound track. Oh well.
