Still wonder why they waste money on publishing a game like this in the us, The gamers over there are probably too busy playing cod or madden to bother with a game that doesn't include shooting and murder
I play Call of Duty, Gears of War, AND Xenoblade. OOPS! Guess I broke your poor excuse for a broad, rather mentally-deficient, generalization!

I'll give you a D for effort though.
Damn, ninja'd. But bravo to you, sir. Absolutely right.

Question: Was there a bonus for pre-ordering Xenoblades?
I pre-ordered XC at Gamestop months before its release and I got a small artbook. Quite nice. My story only got like 5 of them so...people who pre-ordered the game and picked it up a week later probably missed it.

OT: I'm also glad I was one of the few people who pre-ordered The Last Story at my local GameStop. They only have 5 pre-orders so far so they're not gonna get that many copies. But *I* am getting goodies and that just made my day! (I'm a sucker for concept art).

Now. All we need is Pandora's Tower and we'll be fine.

But if all you are doing is pushing a set of actors from cutscene to cutscene, clicking what attack you want which lifeless mannequin to perform, why call it any form of roleplaying game? The most actual decision making or player agency in the narrative of these things is the rare time you're given an A or B option--and again, it's fucking rare for them to ever do it. You don't get to decide what your character is, how they think, feel, act or develop and you have zero influence on the world around you.
By the way, I played this game and it's a specially egregious case of the "A or B" choosing, because the game let you choose between two options at certain times, but if you choose "wrong" the main character says he can't do that and you have to choose again. Makes me wonder why the hell the developers bothered putting the choices.

Oh well, it was a nice game, I hope it sells well.

Edit

Oh shit, I fucked up the quote, what did I do!?

Edit the Second

There, I fixed it.
It does that? I almost can't believe it would be that stupid, lol. Who at the development meetings thought that was a good idea ><

Why can't we just accept them as adventure games? Nothing wrong with that. Adventure is just as awesome as every other genre.

This isn't the case for The Last Story though; the critically-acclaimed Wii game by Final Fantasy's ex-executive producer...
Wait a second.

A guy who worked on Final Fantasy went on to make a game called Last Story?

Is that a joke?
if it is, its a bad one, since, ya know, Last Story 2 is probably in the works XD
Last Story XIII-2 in 25 years. I'm fucking calling it now.
