We all know about the big boys like Batman and Spider-man, but what of the more obscure super-heroes.

For example: the Maxx.

Created by Sam Keith. The Maxx tells the story of a super-hero who is constantly stuck between two worlds. The dream world where he's a jungle aveger in a savage land and the real world where he's a homeless bum.

What are some of the lesser known super-heroes, you feel nobody really knows about?

A lot of people had no clue who Deadpool was before the dumb Wolverine movie. But he is still my favorite (semi-)obscure hero.

Empowered [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Empowered] is pretty obscure last time I checked. It's also pretty hilarious

The Dogwelder. Yes, his power is as it sounds. He welds dogs: to people. From Section 8 comics.

Three things come to mind.
1.) "What the fuck?"
2.) "Why?"
3.) "Who in their right mind thought of that?"

Woops, yeah, messed that up. Section 8 is the team, in the Hitman comics.

Well "V" from V for Vendetta was obscure before the film, but still not a lot of people know about him. Also Rorscach from Watchmen shares a similar fate.

I guess the Ripping Friends are somewhat obscure (not sure if they ever had a comic though)
They were made by the guy who did Ren and Stimpy.

Impossible Man! Think of all the Animaniac rolled into on body with omnipotence and a will to abuse it.
