So just now I'm helping a mate do one of Halo Reach's Daily Challenges which requires him to complete a campaign mission on Legendary with so many skulls on without dying. Now because I live about 4.5 kilometers away from my exchange and have pretty average copper lines (and can't get fiber cable) so basically I have an average connection. This means that when you put a strain on it, (like playing co-op campaign) it tends to drop in and out. So this happened and of course this means he's left alone in a mission that is frustratingly hard enough with 2 people let alone solo, but of course the good people at bungie decided that the ability to join a campaign session (or in the case of halo any non-custom game) in progress now we were about 90% and 30 minutes through the mission without him dying, but because I can't rejoin I now have to sit and wait for him to either complete it or die.
It's little things like this in games that get me, things we usually take for granted or you just never notice until you need it and it's not there. Even just an achievement/trophy tracker in games can be helpful and your glad they are there, but when they're left out you kinda wish you could see how many more headshots you need for that achievement.
So Escapists, for discussion value, what is your favourite "little thing" in games these days?
