Requesting a reserve spot. I have a quick question though. Do humanoid robots with extremly advanced AI exist in this setting?
Do you mean advanced androids? If so, yes you can make them to existance. There is also the Auslav race which while non-humanoid, is an autonomous organic/mechanical hybrid race.
Yeah I meant androids, thanks. Is there a specific format for the character sheet? Or should I just make something up?

He said he'll put the sheet up today, so all we have to do is wait a bit.

I'd like to reserve a place if there is one still going...If you get a sheet up later tonight then I won't be able to fill it out until tomorrow at the earliest. Hope that's all good in the hood with you.

I've been deliberating over this RP for a while but ultimately decided that because you seem incredibly adept and determined at what you're doing, I would very much like a place.

No worries if there's no places left; I'll continue to watch from afar if that's the case = D

Would like to reserve a Mercenary Security officer spot.
There are going to be auditions, if you'll be let in or not is up to the quality of your sheet.

Posting sheets here, or PMing them? And is there a specific format for them I need to adhere to?

EDIT: I will PM you the first draft of a sheet anyway, have a look and reply with any things I need to change/focus on.

I have little to no intention of joining this, simply because it isn't my style of RP, but I just want to applaud you on your organisational skill. There's a lot of well written material, clear rules, clever items and all laid out in a perfectly logical manner.

Good sir, you have my full approval.[footnote]SeanTheSheep's approval holds no legal tender, bargaining weight or bragging rights. If used to pay for items worth less than the total value of the approval given, no change will be supplied. This approval is not exchangeable for cash at any participating retailers.[/footnote]

Reserve please.
I have an idea for a medic who's experienced some terrible things and is on the brink of emotional breakdown from past memories.

Waiting on Templates.

Character sheet
I figured I might create a sheet now to kill some time if there is anything that needs adding or changing just tell me. I took a few liberties with weapons but did my best to explain it so I hope it is OK. Of course if it isn't I don't mind changing it.

*snipedy snip snip*
So would the character communicate through this orb of his? Does it allow for voice communication? As in, spoken word from 'Lime', and for him to ehar other spoken word? I just remember (and correct me if I am wrong) your initial description of the Crelm as not possessing the ability to hear. I thought at the time that that detail would really fuck over teamwork etc.

@avouleance2nd: No, sorry. The backstory I have in mind requires human emotion.

@avouleance2nd: Suicidal tendencies and nightmarish memories are some of the things I had in mind. Playing an alien race, I simply would not be able to picture it. Sorry. :)

The translation orb is capable of both detecting and producing light and sound.
It is programmed to recognise both Spectrum (What people call the Crelm language) and Common Speech and translating them in real time.

As well as this it is not uncommon for Crelm to know a little sign language or other species to understand basic spectrum (The Crelm language doesn't have words per say more relying on symbolism and situational interpretation.)
Admittedly non Crelm can never fully understand spectrum because it relies on above average colour differentiation. Case in point the Crelm can recognise approximately 6.3 times the colours humans can and will have different meanings for all of them.
Wait you said Crelm had 8 tentacles on each hand.

How the hell can they use sign language?

@A Gent of Villainous Intent: Au contraire, my good sir. I simply wish to work with human emotions. :)
I would actually love to play an alien race, but not with the character I have in mind.

No need for hostile attitude, either.

@ Everyone: The character sheet template will be posted soon and you can send your sheets once I put it up

Apart from that (and while I love the energy) I would kindly asked that all OOC go in the User Group [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/The-Long-Odyssey] purely because the mods may lock the thread for cluttering.

Hello, I was wondering if it was possible for me to reserve a spot as a JCA Field Agent?
P.S. I know I'm new to these forums, but I like to think myself a person capable of writing, and following rules.......... Or at least something close to "capable".

Name : Gar Johannson.

Age : 52.

Race : Human.

Gender : Male.

Appearance : Grey and white hair reaching over his ears. Blue and deep eyes that hide his pain, along with a thick stubble across the chin and down his throat. Gar stands at a tall 6'7 and weighs around 90kgs without armor and clothing. His face is weathered after years of combat.

Faction : Mercenary. Retired JCA.

Homeplanet : Born in 'Alpha-2 Station B'. Has never set foot on a planet.

Weapons : Gar carries the CLS-N29 SMG along with the SAL revolver sidearm.

Misc items : A half empty wooden box of cigars along with a zippo lighter. He also likes to carry his shaving razor that his father brought from Earth and gave him on his 14th birthday.

Role : Rapid Response Team. Marine Medic from JCA

Bio : Gar was born on a space station in the Alpha sector next to Earth. His father and mother came from northern Europe, so he was named a Nordic name in tradition of his family's history. He started his combat training at the age of fifteen and finished ten years later. Gar joined up in the JCA military before they retreated back to the three core planets.
He saw some pretty heavy fighting where he traveled, but he never actually got to go to a planet. Every fight he was in was either on board space ships or stations, as well as mining rigs and there was one time when he wrestled a Mercenary in open space.

"There's nothing to it, and you will become a hero of war son. Don't you see what that means?"
Those words, the last his father ever spoke to him, still ring in his head after the nightmares he gets.

Gar retired at the early age of 47 after he lost consciousness while fighting a Mercenary in space without any oxygen. He received minor brain damage that resulted in him losing his medical license and getting kicked from the JCA.
Broken and stripped of rank, he boarded a shuttle to a mining rig in the Charlie sector with only his medals and scars, and tall tales. The money he received for his service in the army accommodated him with a place to sleep for and booze for his memories.

"A hero of war..."
That's all he wanted to be. Just wanted to make his father proud.
His first assignment in the JCA was the worst. His squad were to assault a station that was believed to be shipping JCA weapons and ammo to the enemy.
It was pretty straight forward; get the target and get out. But it was never that easy.
The man responsible was just a civilian looking for easy money in smuggling, but Gar's comrades wanted to teach him a lesson. They pissed on him, beat him down with their guns and spat on him as he lay there in agony. "Stop!" He remembered himself calling out, but he soon joined in on it. And that was just the beginning.
