I was wondering, what is the longest you have ever spent on a single game? and why?

Mine is Dragon Quest VIII (look at the avatar lol) and i spent 200+ hours on that damn game, that 200 hours PLAYTME because i never left it switched on

That game had me enthralled for a decent chunck of time to say the least, and to a certain degree it still does

Runner up is probably Morrowind, but i dont know how long i played that game for because its broken up between many many many different saved games, most of which have been long since deleted.

Tales of Symphonia for gamecube would probably be the game I spent the most time playing. I spent maybe 2-300 hours replaying to get all the titles and monster logs I would probably have played it more if I actually owned the game instead of borrowing it from a friend

But for serials... WoW sadly.
Something like... 60 days of play time... over the 4 years that it ravaged my life.

Thankfully, those days are behind me now.

Then next would be Team Fortress 2.
With over 1100 hours.

Anarchy Online came out at about the same time that I was first connected to broadband after dialup. Nuff said, I think.

It took me a week to finish Mass Effect 2. For me that's a long time to finish a game

I used to play a couple of really shitty MUD's online and I think overall I racked up about 7-8 days play time. >_< I am not pleased with myself for that.
Other than that though, I found my old Pokemon Silver cartridge recently and loaded it up on my GBA. I had something like 500 hours playtime, all the Pokemon, nearly all of which were level 100.
I was a dedicated 9 year old.

Singleplayer, I SUPPOSE it's Ocarina of Time, but could also possibly be Fallout 3.
Multiplayer either (if I want to be cool) Left 4 Dead or (if I want to be honest) Ragnarok.

I played Morrowind and Neverwinter Nights both for a VERY long time. NWN especially because of all the custom content out there, and Morrowind just.. no idea.

Played WoW and FFXI too for a long time but MMOs don't count in my book!

Wow... judging from my xfire profile, TF2 does not take up first place! (*acts surprised*)
Instead, Left 4 Dead is first with a stunning 285 hours. Then again, some of it was my brother so I guess TF2 does, will and always has been on the first place with 265 hours. It's the frickin' item system. Other than that there's the multiplayer ordeal of Frozen Throne, as well as CoD2 and 4.
But, if we're counting singleplayer games, it's GTAIV with 173 hours.(I never really bothered with multi)

I started playing it about in december,than at the historical society nod32 said that the save I made was a virus and deleted it,and exited my game,so i had to start the whole game again and though Im really interested in the story,I rarely get the mood to play it
Im still playing it btw,Im at the end of the hospital area

6211 hours in Guild Wars. A lot of that is AFK-time, obviously.

I'm not sure about single player games though... I probably wasted about 500 hours in Oblivion.

Skate 2, its fun just to pick up and cruise the city for hours on end trying to find the right rail. of course actually skating is more fun, just wish my city was like New San Van *sigh*
