JESUS CHRIST YOU PEOPLE!!!
This is the worst, but some of you guys just seriously astounded me.
I can never still be into a game for more then 100 hours unless I leave it for a year or two for the memory to mellow out and my family, friends and I still think I have quite a video game addiction for it (my family call it a 'video game problem', but I prefer to make excuses for myself). But some of this really puts it into perspective. omg...
Anyhoo, back on topic, probably pokemon Ruby with 200 hours over quite 2 or 3 years (the first non-PC game I ever played, back at the age of 7 or 8) or WoW (but that's behind me now). Offline... probably Oblivion? Quite likely done 100 hours.

EDIT: Just looked at this post, might seem ofensive or accusing to some. Didn't mean it that way, just rather shocked. SORRY.

I'm thinking something like 600 hours on FFX. I'll probably leave that in the dust with Dragon Age and it's stuff, probably about about 200-250 collective hours on that.

Well, it was the ONLY game I had for a year, and also my favorite game.

Here's some backstory as to why I played it so much...it was my first time experiencing a WRPG.

Once, many years ago, there was a little boy who had a PS2. for that PS2 he had two games that no-one had heard of... Spiderman 2 and Destroy all humans!. VERY RARELY he still plays them and, in his single digits he racked up over two-thousand hours of game play on Spiderman 2 and 500 on Destroy all Humans!(Still one of the most paradoxically funny and Brilliant heralds of the Lord himself in the guise of a game.)

Yup, that's me! Congrats Shirlock.

But seriously, those games are brilliant even in comparison with many brand new games. Like the Stanley Kubricks of the gaming industry.

Has to be the Sims 2 - I've no idea how many hours/days/weeks. It is sodding addictive and the Sims 3 isn't any different. (Right now I have two games on the go and it's Sims3 and Oblivion. NO TIME SEND HELP.)

Add up all the Pokemon hours I've logged and it'll probably total something like 1000 straight.

I was wondering, what is the longest you have ever spent on a single game? and why?

Mine is Dragon Quest VIII (look at the avatar lol) and i spent 200+ hours on that damn game, that 200 hours PLAYTME because i never left it switched on :p

That game had me enthralled for a decent chunck of time to say the least, and to a certain degree it still does :)

Runner up is probably Morrowind, but i dont know how long i played that game for because its broken up between many many many different saved games, most of which have been long since deleted.

so share your gaming addictions with us today, and mabe get a cheap laugh or two ;)
Probably Suikoden 3. The game has probably over a hundred hours of gameplay in a single play through, and with the number of stories, characters, and ways to battle, I've probably put over 700 hours into that game. Definitely on of my most favourite games.

Had about. . . 1000? Hours on WoW before I ran for the hills. And then Dungeons and Dragons Online devoured me, and I think I'm up to something like 2,500 hours on that. And most of that is just roleplaying. Heh. It's been a good 3 and a half years spent, though, I think.

Non-MMO, the only one that comes to mind is Team Fortress 2. I think Steam says 450 hours? I can't check for sure, because the Steam Community doesn't seem to want to work for me. Regardless, 449 of those hours are as Pyro. I wish I were exaggerating that. Haha. Huddahuddahudda.

I have spent over 300 hours on my Monster Hunter Freedom 2 character, by far the longest amount of time I've ever put into any game.

Dragon age origins. 70 hours so far and I've just past the halfway mark. [sub]
although that might just be because I suck at it.[/sub]

Same here, and like someone on the first page; I also had 500+ hours on my Pokemon Silver. Then I got the bright idea to put it in the gba action replay which deleted my save file. :(

Through repeated playthroughs, I've probably spent at least 300 hours on the first Mass Effect.

I've put over 1000 hours into TimeSplitters: Future Perfect back in the day, and the latest one that I put that much time to was Oblivion; also over 1000 hours. Since Oblivion, Fallout 3 is probably the highest, at around 250 hours. I may like to play for the achievements, but as I've said before, if I like a game, I have no problem putting the time into it. :)

After reading this thread, I have to echo what others have said. If you tally up all the time spent on Pokemon games, its easily over 1000 as well.
