The Marathon Games

I recently downloaded the Marathon games off the internets and I have a couple of questions:
Marathon and Marathon 2 have weird controls and when I try to open "Preferences" they crash. Also, how do you open doors in Marathon Infinity?

Marathon and Marathon Durandel were originally on the Mac and were attempts to combat Doom's popularity, it didn't feature the most 1-1 controls at the time but Aleph One should at least make it play a lot like Doom.

Are you running the game off Aleph One or an old Mac emulator? Because I never had any problems with Aleph One. With regards to opening doors, Marathon Infinity ran on the same engine and used the same assets as Durandel, so it played practically identically.
