So I went and bought Overlord Dark Legend. It's a decent game, pretty fun, had none of the lag issues that IGN's review talked about, stuttered very slightly once in my entire playthrough of it. It's a little short and a little easy, room for imprvment. But what really got my most was the ending.
I didn't even realise I had finished the game until the credits started rolling!
Possibly the most anticlimactic ending ever.

So tell me:
What's the biggest anticlimax in a game you have come across?

Well there was...
The fake ending in The Curse of Monkey Island
But that was funny too.

Fable 2, you pretty much work towards this final completely anticlimactic boss fight that was about half as long as a quick time event, and about half as fun.

Agreed.

Halo 2's ending was a real piss-boiler, and I really can't think of anything else besides Fable 2 at this point so I'm gonna go with that.

Edit: ninja'd

What about halo 2?
I don't know if that really counts because you do learn what happened in Halo 3.

And I agree with Fable 2. Though I loved how the antagonist was killed.

assassin's creed had a pretty anti-climatic one

you get to the end, do a boss type fight, then it as it seems to be getting exciting it just leaves you there

KOTOR 2's ending was a pure slap in the balls. It gave zero closure to the story other than "All the bad guys died".

What about the good guys? "Oh, they flew off in a ship."

I'm pretty sure I cried.

Well that and "All the good stuff you did made good stuff happened, and all the bad stuff you did made bad stuff happen". I agree that it's the worst; not to mention you could beat the boss by spamming force-crush.
