Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising.... the game wasnt bad, it was by no means good either. Sometimes you need average games though

I'm gonna go with Übersoldier. It was just very, very... I don't know. It just sort of exists, being neither good or bad.

Id say Space Marine- it fails to stand out in anyway other then using the 40k license- its completely functional and quite enjoyable but you'll forget about it very quickly.
Seconded, also The Saboteur. Generally enjoyable but doesn't stand out in any way unless you bought it brand new and spent time in the cellar of the Burlesque Club.

Warhammer40k DoW II.

Now I only ever purchased the origional game, which I had to stop playing part way through as working seemed more interesting (was playing it during computer game design lectures, so being less interesting isn't really that much of an insult).

Without bases and massive warfare it just didn't feel like the same rts franchise.

I might try out the expansion packs if they are one day dirt cheap and someone tells me they might actually have a similar multiplayer experience to the origional game.

Most of the COD games. MW2, Cod4 and Black Ops were all so-so fps' with a lot of Pro-America, boo-nearly everyone else. I did like ONE feature of MW2, and that's the fact that Hans Zimmer composed the music for it, so at least it SOUNDS awesome, and there are some nice little surprises in every game, but game as a whole, not good, not bad. Average.

I have to say Divinity Two Ego Draconis, I played through it once but I've never been able to motivate myself to play it again. It was a reasonable game to play through once but nothing in it stood out to me. It's neither good enough to play more than once or bad enough to warrant being thrown out, it just sits on my shelf collecting dust.

Almost every MMO out there -- most are either horribly forgettable WoW clones or incredibly average JRPGs that seem to concentrate more on making their characters ridiculously attractive than anything else -- once you actually enter these games there is practically NOTHING inside of them -- no quests of note, no rewards for playing, no story, no FUN. Just bland, bland, bland, bland fetch quests. FOREVER.

Also, Medal of Honor reboot. Terribly bland.

That nobody else liked? That does make it a tough one.

I don't think i've ever heard anyone praise Singularity for anything. The game had some interesting mechanics which it didn't make too big of a deal out of and everything in it was just... ok. Playing the games an alright experience, but nothing really sticks out about it in my mind when i look back at it.

Infamous - Who honestly runs around a ghetto, collecting medical supplies and com relays and considers it fun? Time killer sure, but how can this game be considered anything other than that? Not to mention how many things they ripped off to make the most bland, predictable 'anti-hero' possible.

Notable Runner-ups:

Prototype

The Resistance series

The Killzone series

Homefront

Kane & Lynch

I think I'm the only one who feels this way but I HATED Assassins Creed 2, I fell in love with the first game but for some reason i couldn't stand the second one. I didn't even have fun or enjoy playing it, only game I've ever bought and never finished

Command & Conquer: Renegade was probably the most average shooter ever created. It was fun, and it kept C&C fans happy with fanservice hat-tipping and gentle winks and NODs towards the established C&C universe. The graphics were colourful and functional, but rather sparse and jejune. The guns had no real meaty thwack to them and the machine gun had the recoil of a garden hose with the tap turned half-way, making you feel like you were killing people a SuperSoaker rather than a Weapon of Tremendous Death. There was no real driven storyline, and you A-to-B'd your way across large, uniform terrain, rescuing people you neither cared about nor knew why you needed rescuing them (scientists, apparently, for the reason that they are People Of Science). The NOD soldiers were a vast army of red-and-black clones, having no real differentiating characteristics.

Yet despite all these flaws, it's a passable game that holds your attention longer than millions of games before it. I enjoy myself when playing it, to the point where I would consider that I'm "having fun", but ultimately it's forgettable and bland and I wouldn't rush into a burning building to save the last copy on earth.

THEREFORE, I award this game the possibly-prestigious Golden Mehhhh award for the category of "Distinctly Average Game That I Once Played And It Was Alright, I Guess"

Almost every Third Person Shooter to appear this generation.
They all have their shtick, but in the end, it just isn't that special and they all end up in the bargain bin.
Here's a list of games I managed to pick up recently, 9 euros a piece or less, still in the original packaging:

- Dark Void (the one with the jetpack)
- Dark Sector (the one with the glaive)
- Fracture (the one with the grenades that alter the ground)
- Bionic Commando (the one with the bionic swinging arm)

Oh, and here's one that will no doubt continue this list in the near future:

- Inversion (the one with very limited gravity manipulation)

Im gonna have to go with Mafia II, that game was so much of the same and while it was pretty it was so dull. I beat it but to this day Im not sure why.

I think reading that made me die a little inside. I'm not angry or anything just... a little less alive inside.

OT: Yugioh: Duelist of the roses. What? I haven't played many average games.

Uhm. I'm not the only one concerned that a guy got a warning for including Arkham Asylum in his list, right?

OP: Killzone has always struck me as one of these. Decent shooter, with decent multiplayer and decent community, equipped with a decent soundtrack and decent voice acting. And decent visuals.
Can't speak for sales, though, but I'm decently certain they were decent.

I would go with games like Battle for Middle-earth and Star Wars Empire at War. They're solid games overall, but pale in comparison to the big contenders of the RTS genre. As I recall they both got 75-85 reviews, which I think counts as average considering how binary professional reviews tend to be.

I have to honestly say Halo (the first one). I played it with my brothers and was amazingly underwhelmed. It wasn't terrible or anything, but it certainly didn't live up to the massive amounts of hype and lavish praise people were heaping on it at the time.

Haze on PS3.

It was fine, there was an attempt at story, it wasn't bad looking, it had decent gameplay elements which were unique and I hear the vehicles weren't too bad.

No one I know of loves it.

Troll reported. If you're not a troll, I'd suggest having a look at some GOTY awards for last year and reading the OP.
You'd really report someone for having a different opinion than you? Really?
Cry harder, dick.
"It also can't be a game other people really like or hate with a passion (Halo, for instance). I'm talking about a game that is perfectly adequate, performs exactly as expected, and is received averagely in sales and reviews."

It's good to see how many people are willing to read a five sentence prompt before posting. T_T
