I trust you're referring to the version Iggy made WITH David Bowie, not Bowie's solo effort (which is AWFUL in comparison).

A song called Lodestar by a woman named Sarah Harmer.
Your hand won't write
Not tonight
But your mind may wander
Into those deep lagoons that you know
And your boat will go by starlight alone
Da da da da da da da da
You sang to the moon
In the great black night
With no lodestar in sight

Or Matamoros Banks by Bruce Springsteen.
Your sweet memory comes on the evenin' wind
I sleep and dream of holding you in my arms again
The lights of Brownsville, across the river shine
A shout rings out and into the silty red river I dive
I long, my darling, for your kiss, for your sweet love I give God thanks
A touch of your loving fingertips
Meet me on the Matamoros
Meet me on the Matamoros
Meet me on the Matamoros banks

Or One Great City! by the Weakerthans.
Late afternoon, another day is nearly done
A darker grey is breaking through a lighter one
A thousand sharpened elbows in the underground
That hollow hurried sound, of feet on polished floor
And in the dollar store, the clerk is closing up
And counting loonies trying not to say

I hate Winnipeg

White Wedding - Billy Idol
slightly more serious..
Man in the Mirror - Michael Jackson
Mezzanine & Teardrop - Massive Attack
Glorybox - Portishead
also, Tori Amos does a haunting version of Amazing grace with Maynard from Tool. Very hard to track down, cos it was done at a live show, but if you can find it... wow.

Iron & Wine - Flightless Bird, American Mouth

http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=sDJbCbCepRk

I was a quick wet boy, diving too deep for coins
All of your street light eyes wide on my plastic toys
Then when the cops closed the fair, I cut my long baby hair
Stole me a dog-eared map and called for you everywhere

Have I found you
Flightless bird, jealous, weeping or lost you, american mouth
Big pill looming

Now I'm a fat house cat
Nursing my sore blunt tongue
Watching the warm poison rats curl through the wide fence cracks
Pissing on magazine photos
Those fishing lures thrown in the cold
And clean blood of Christ mountain stream

Have I found you
Flightless bird, grounded, bleeding or lost you, american mouth
Big pill stuck going down

I do love that song. I'd peg it as more epic and adrenaline inducing than beautiful though.

Though, the most beautiful song to me probably isn't, I just love the lyrics.

Brace yourself, because I think I'm coming for you. Look up into the sky, home could be anywhere when I'm holding you... [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vU8JzScqU5A]

Seize the Day and Sidewalker by Avenged Sevenfold. Don't know why, they just make me more relaxed. They aren't beautiful, but they make me feel tingly inside. :D

See, I don't think there's anything "epic" about it. It's about the downfall of the characters in the movie, not about half of the trailers it's slapped on.

When I saw it in an Assassin's Creed trailer I was just like "No".

God is God - Juno Reactor

The video is really screwed up and the song is slightly repetitive, but I like it.
