For a bit of obscurity, Ben Folds did a concert with the Western Australian Symphony Orchestra and their rendition of "Narcolepsy" is absolutely heartrenching. It takes an already beautiful, emotional song, and just ups the ante. The last two minutes genuinely sounds like he's drowning against the orchestral swells and the amazing tenor they have singing counterpoint to him.

I'm also a big fan of Andrew Bird's music. Best songs are "Naming of Things" and "Spare-Ohs".

But if I had to pick a single song to listen to for the rest of my life, it'd undoubtedly be Damien Rice's "Elephant". No other vocalist can push that much sorrow and intensity into his singing. >.> I, uh... might sometimes maybe cry when hearing the last verse.

What's the point of this song or of even singing? You're already gone and I can live again. I could throw it all, I could do it all for you- I could be strong... Tell me if you want me to lie 'cause this has got to die

"Meadows of Heaven" and "Lagoon" by nightwish, lovely songs both sending shivers down my spine whenever I hear them. Even though they are both sung by 2 different vocalists, Lagoon is sung by Tarja, the other is from their latest album.

Another song, although more in the "epic" category would be "Divine Intervention" by Frank Klepaki, for the Universe at War soundtrack.

Hurt by Johnny Cash, or I will Follow You Into the Dark by Death Cab For Cutie, those songs get me choked up, particularly Hurt.

Not sure about the MOST beautiful, but I have been living overseas away from home for the past 5 months, and Michael Bubles song home always gives me that "tingly" feeling that i think you are talking about....

...and since I have a lot of love for instrumental music, let's go for some lush epic post-rock
What is "Post-Rock"?
The new Official First Rule Of The Internets: Google/Wikipedia first, ask questions later.

Down, Down, Down to Mephisto's Cafe by Streetlight Manifesto, sooooo perfect, the harmonies of the vocals, the way the trumpets and saxophones compliment eachother, the ska guitar weaving throughout, and the bass and drums guiding everything along... auditory crack baby!
