WoWcraft. A bad game that has like 10 million people paying to continue playing so they can keep in contact with friends who are also playing who are supporting gold farming sweatshops that allow people to play for a living.
Not just WoW, but any MMO that has you pay to play it. Why the hell do they feel the need to charge people to play the game? Blizzard doesn't charge for the use of Battle.net, so why do these MMO's have to charge money for to play them? Oh I know, because their developers are greedy exploitative pricks.
It takes roughly $1,000,000 dollars just to LAUNCH a multinational MMO with good servers. On top of that, you have to pay for your support, GMs, advertising, serverspace, etc. Sure, you could conjure up an MMO in your basement and distribute it for free, but name one MMO that was all of the following: 1) stable 2) fun 3) was
actually free?
If you can meet all these requirements, then your game isn't the average bear. Many free (and even browser) games start out free, but you have to pay to unlock "Episode 2" or you have to pay for some kind of points you can trade in for good gear. So who's the greedy ones? The people who distribute the game and have good moderation, stable servers, and continuously updating content? Or is it the people who bait-and-switch you into coughing up cash for items?
Blizzard may be run by a group of pretentious man-children who have mastered the art of exploiting loopholes in copyright laws, but at least they're fair.
