Na... i have to side with Yahtzee it seems.

You all name bad games... or games with strange or hateful content. But really: Sims is EVIL. It just pretends to be game, but it is an evil soulless cashgrubbing-machine targeted on the weak. And worst of all, it pretends to be a game... you know... entertaining and such but it really is just an evil pretender bent on siphoning cash and joy out of your lives.

WoW and others at least try to entertain the simple people and have a story to tell, or mechanics to learn, to compete with other players. (Not to defend them... much)

WoWcraft. A bad game that has like 10 million people paying to continue playing so they can keep in contact with friends who are also playing who are supporting gold farming sweatshops that allow people to play for a living.
Not just WoW, but any MMO that has you pay to play it. Why the hell do they feel the need to charge people to play the game? Blizzard doesn't charge for the use of Battle.net, so why do these MMO's have to charge money for to play them? Oh I know, because their developers are greedy exploitative pricks.
It takes roughly $1,000,000 dollars just to LAUNCH a multinational MMO with good servers. On top of that, you have to pay for your support, GMs, advertising, serverspace, etc. Sure, you could conjure up an MMO in your basement and distribute it for free, but name one MMO that was all of the following: 1) stable 2) fun 3) was actually free?

If you can meet all these requirements, then your game isn't the average bear. Many free (and even browser) games start out free, but you have to pay to unlock "Episode 2" or you have to pay for some kind of points you can trade in for good gear. So who's the greedy ones? The people who distribute the game and have good moderation, stable servers, and continuously updating content? Or is it the people who bait-and-switch you into coughing up cash for items?

Blizzard may be run by a group of pretentious man-children who have mastered the art of exploiting loopholes in copyright laws, but at least they're fair.
Em yeah, just wanted to say love your avatar man. Nothing like some Deus Ex.
But as far as evil game? The Sims. I am addicted as hell to it and I love every second I play, but I want to sacrifice goats after I get done.

Madden 2006

The previous year saw the best foobtall game of all time, ESPN NFL 2k5. EA then decided that they would buy the exclusive NFL licensing so they'd have no competition. Madden 2006 was the game that resulted from said lack of competition.
I liked Madden 06, of course, it was the first Madden game I played, so I guess I had nothing to compare it to.

hard to believe no one has mentioned the carpal tunnel-inducing guitar hero world tour. no way to play that game comfortably. only game i have ever heard of to actually contribute to a serious physical medical condition.

Well, thank you. Deus Ex was indeed a masterpiece.

Warhammer online, which rewards me for the player characters I gack far more than anything you can get in quest mode and encourages homicidal mania in the name of faction domination.

and I love it. :'(

Let's not get hasty with the WoW hate here. There are a lot of games that I hate but can at least recognize the qualities that make it attractive to others. Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it's bad. Now, Revolution-X on the other hand...

Personally, I've never played a game that's actually legitimately evil. I'd say that game based on the Left Behind series probably ranks up there as the most evil thing in a category of things that fail at being either good or evil.

First, the game itself is actually quite terrible. That said, since no one (I hope) sets out to make a game that simply isn't fun to play (for anybody), this isn't evil so much as it's a failure of the process.

Second, the game is based off a series of books that preyed on the unease around the turning of the millineum. This is at least a little bit evil because you are manipulating the fears of the masses for personal gain

I'd say School Days is the most evil game ever created. If you've seen the anime adaptation, you'll know why.
Which is why I wonder why my friend is obsessed with School Days.

The plethora of music games after Guitar Hero 2, excluding about a day's playing of Rock Band. Anything after that just absorbed souls left and right, not to mention money out the ass.
