The giant goblins from Demon's Souls World 5-2.

They're big, they hit hard, and their hits can knock you down. That on its own isn't so bad by the game's standards. HOWEVER: they appear in a level that is a giant swamp that saps your mobility. Stand in the swamp, and you move more slowly and, if I remember correctly, lose your ability to roll. There are some spots of dry land where your mobility is normal, but they are pretty small. In short, face one of these dudes and you can quickly be stun-locked, since with time it takes to stand up after being knocked over and your inability to move quickly in the swamp, the giant can just knock you right down again. They're best dealt with from range, which is a real annoyance.

Banshees in me3 prior to their melee fix patch.

Banshee: "Come here cutiepie! Give me a hug!"
Player:"Oh shit a banshee. Get some distance. Run!
Banshee: "Lol! oh no you dont."
*instant perma range-lag-bug-death as the banshee hugs you and impales you with her arm despite you being 30 meters away*

Thank GOD they fixed that.

I'd also say the new collector seeker swarms. Not lethal, but god damn if it isnt annoying to have a bug swarm in your face that messes with your abilities. Also happen to be hidiously unrewarding(and relativly challenging) to take them down.

Other then that, ranged flood creatures from halo 3 is a pretty good bet, I'll definetly agree on that nomination.

There's also the kleer skellies in serious sam, and the psycho muffled straightjacket-freaks in dead island.

For some bizarre reason, I've never had much problem with cazadores in New Vegas, but then again I always try to level up properly before heading into areas with those kind of creatures. Deathclaws I just stay the fuck away from until im packing massive heat. The hint is in their appearance.

These little shits from Jak 2...

These things have RUINED MY LIFE as a child and now that I have replayed all 3 with the HD collection, I have to say these are so annoying I wanted to throw a chair. Sting me once, I'm mad. Sting me twice, I'm really mad. Sting me 3 times, I'm dead. And this can happen in the space of seconds if you try to retaliate. Seriously, fuck these guys!

Arch-vile [http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20050119194344/doom/images/3/3e/Map11_meet_archie.png] from Doom.

Dopplegangers from Baldur's Gate.

Cliffracers from Morrowind.

End thread.

UFE troopers from max payne 3 are freaking crazy hard to kill fuckers, they wear body armout making them pretty much imune to chest shots and also had a helmet to protect them from a garunteed headshot! These guys will suck up all your ammo and still come back for more, the best chance to kill them is just shoot the fuckers in the legs, as most dont seem to wear leg protection.

Threshers from borderlands 2, how can an enemy so annoying! they burrow underground, they have different variations that synch well together and dont get me started on the badass fire threshers, dig underground, reappear under you and insta down you and they block most of the screen so you cant get a second wind, so lame!

That one guy in multiplayer games who constantly kills you, fucking wanker.

WIZPIG! I hate him! SO so much! Other than him? Swamp Mammoths from Kingdom Under Fire: Heroes. Oh and the enemies from the Cult of Kefka's Tower in Final Fantasy 6.

Engineers in TF2. All anyone who plays as that guy ever does is assemble a bunch of sentries and camp at the intel room the whole game. Nooby pricks.
Pretty much any boss from Darksiders 2. "But Popcarn, finding the weak point on your own is fun-" NO IT ISN'T, STFU
The flood in Halo. God, whoever's idea it was to put invincible, ugly zombie things in Halo, please eat a dick and die in a hole. I hope you burn in hell, dumbass.
Brutes, again, from Halo. They are just so annoying: They are pretty much stupid gorillas who wear spartan armor, carry thor's hammer, and their voices, OH GOD, DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED, ALL THEY DO IS SNARL AND LAUGH AT YOU! P IS FOR PRICK!!!!!!
Random dragons on Skyrim. Just walkin' along, mindin' my own business, WHEN SUDDENLY A DRAGON JUMPS OUT AT ME AND HOLY CRAP I AM NOT PREPARED.
Everything in Dishonored. You've got your pick:Generic zombies, generic pirates, and generic british policemen, who wear funny hats and everything. Also, even on the lowest difficulty, they are some what overpowered, between fire breathing pirates and police who dodge every attack you make and always shoot at you all the time. This is why Dishonored is best played in stealth mode.

I think it's these fuckers from Assassin's Creed 2

Sure they're not "enemies" in the traditional sense...

But they're enemies to my sanity!

Any shadow in Persona 3 that has a party wide attack. Bonus points if it crits someone and gets another turn. More bonus points if he one hit critical kills your MC and you have to reload the game because your party members suddenly forgot they have revival beads and recarm.

Every floor with enemies aiming insta-kill moves repeatedly at MC could put me off that game for an indefinite amount of time. lol

Hama Hama Hama Hama Hama.

"Enemy is weak to darkness!"

Take out Alice, use Die For Me! Misses all of them. What..

Stop. HAMA TIME!

Dead. Last save was an hour ago when I first entered Tartarus. I think this around the time I got the items that took the death for me whenever a Mudo or Hama skill actually landed.

Let?s see in the shin megami tensei /persona games any enemy that can kill you in one hit hama and mudo are the least of your problems when it comes to 1 hit kill games.
In touhou some of the fairy can have really annoying patterns but none beat basically anything from game 6 stage-5 the enemies paterns are way more difficult than the boss at least on normal.

Undead Fetishes in Diablo 2. What pile of used toilet paper decided that a good idea for a enemy type would be one that drains half your health globe upon death on close range? It's one of the cheapest enemy mechanics I've seen in my life, "Oh, you killed him, your reward is death because these little shits come in packs".
Scions in Mass Effect 2. I love me some nigh-indestructible festering pile of crap that deals massive damage. Also, swarms and Scions, two great flavors that taste great when combined.
Finally, L-TAG using CELL troopers are a complete pain in the ass in Crysis 2.

SMT games (mainly Persona 3/4) are getting a lot of mention here, and I agree, but I think it's even worse in Nocturne.

I mean, at least you will always have a chance to fight back in Persona since you can manipulate encounters to where you are never ambushed.

Nocturne doesn't even give you that luxury. Enemies can ambush you without warning (level and stats seem to factor into this but an ambush is always possible) and use party wide instant death spells, effectively causing you to lose several hours of progress.

Thankfully, there are ways to combat the issue in Nocturne as well by ingesting a Magatama that voids Hama/Mudo, but it usually involves trading one weakness for another in an area where there are enemies that cast both Hama and Mudo spells.

Nocturne's still my favorite SMT game, though.

Facehuggers, i LOVE the alien series and the games, but i just cant get past lvls with facehuggers without pausing the game for 5min every meter i get forward when i hear they are around. I have a HUGE fobia for facehuggers. So might sound strange, but facehuggers ruin every AvP game for me, but i still love the series.

My friends found it hilarious when we were playing multiplayer on AvP 2 -.-.
