The most hyped you've ever been!

Hey Escapist, Simple to- OMG PORTAL! ARG! AWSOME! MORSE CODE! DINOSAUR!

If you can't tell i'm more then a little hyped about portal 2 and all this fascinating marketing, which is something amazing, since i wouden't say i'm the biggest portal fan out there (Don't get me wrong, i LOVE the game, but i'm not in love with it.)

So my question for you today is what is the most hyped you've been about a game and what was the game?

(For those of you wondering, check around for the escapist for the news coverage of Portal, the ingame morse code, and the new ending to portal 1.)

I remember being very VERY hyped about the PS3 and all its potential a while back...

Also, I was incredibly hyped for Portal

Probably for Kingdom Hearts II.

I loved the first so much and the second exceeded my expectations.

Total nerdgasm that night.

The most hyped I have ever been for movies was for either Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith or Lord Of The Rings: Return Of The King.

For video games it was either Grand Theft Auto IV or Mass Effect 2.

Look how that turned out.


However, the biggest hype that ever existed still goes to the Phantom Menace, which managed to kill off half of the die hards, while ensuring that Star Wars will never die for another thousand years.

Super Smash Brother: Melee. The Offspring's Rise and Fall Rage and Grace (their 1st album in over 5 years and hoping it would be better than Splinter) and as of late my new PC build, which I'm hoping will arrive tomorrow. If not tomorrow then Wednesday.

I was incredibly hyped up for Prototype, then I was obviously a little disappointed (I still love that game, though). I would have been for Mass Effect 2, but I intentionally deprived myself of information about the game to prevent disappointment from over-hyping. Then the game blew my socks off.

I was pretty damn stoked for Mass Effect 2. I can't remember ever being that antsy about a damn video game.

Halo 3

Didn't have access to the Internet, so was going entirely by the fact we had fun screwing around in Local games with a neighbor in Halo 2, as well as various forms of Media
Even have the giant Master Cheif helm On my Cat in a trunk.

Warthog launch was fun though.
(That came out wrong, I mean that Warthog launch was useful, as opposed to my Cat's Armor which he Cannae wear)

Fallout 3. Not that'd I'd play the original or anything (I never did)

It fell far, far short of my expectations...Ever since then, I don't get my hopes up.

Easily the most hyped by the Orange box. Why? I had literally no idea it was coming out. I had vaguely known of portal's existence for a while, and may a friend had hinted at TF2?

And then, like 2 days before the Orange Box came out, I saw that three different games I had been waiting for, were all coming out at once, and were BUNDLED for a good price? I was ridiculously happy, and could.not.wait.

The most hyped I've ever been for something was the Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy Movie. The moment I saw a 10 second trailer for it a year before it's release, I almost fell out of my chair from sheer excitment. I was glad that it didn't dissapoint.
Most hyped I've been for a Game would be Red Alert 3. Those of you who are vaguely aware of my feelings on this will know that I was NOT a happy bunny when I got my hands on it.

I was so hyped for SSBB and it's online mode, Adventure mode, and new characters. I was ultimately let down completely.
