The "OH SHIT I'M ABOUT TO DROWN" music from pretty much any Sonic game that has a water level.
That's some good music I forgot about that! Duhn duhn duhn duhn duhn duhn...duhn....duhn.....BLUB!

I think that Bioshock had good music....I think, it sounded pretty on the time period and helped make the area creepy when you hear this music playing.

My favorite, "Oh crap oh crap!" music is from Borderlands when you're deep in a fight you get to hear a strange pygmy tribal man sing in O's....seriously, you need to hear it to believe me.

Either ff7 or halo both are awesome as an oldish video game and a modernish game sound track

I'd say that Chrono Trigger has one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard. Not a lot of soundtracks have the same variety and quality it has. Chrono Cross also has a pretty memorable soundtrack, but Chrono Trigger left a stronger impression on me.

Mine has to be ether the System Shock 2 soundtrack because of how creepy it is...

Or the Starcraft II soundtrack. Amazing tunes.

Brutal Legend!

Driving around in your awesome demon car with the apocalypse raining down upon you and power metal playing in the background? Can't get much better than that.
I second this!

I've been playing Brutal Legend a lot lately, and I have to say - nominating it feels like cheating (plus it's already been nominated and seconded).

Despite not having played it for years, I still periodically get tunes from Legend of Dragoon lodged in my head.

Halo has a pretty good score, but for some reason I remember the soundtrack from Kingdom Hearts the most.

Sounds lame but the most memorial soundtrack I have for a game is in Kingdom Hearts...
It's the song from when you're running around the beach on Destiny Islands.

It's such a pointless song, and it's not even exciting or anything, it's just fun. :]
Not to mention you have to listen to it for about an hour straight...
OH NOES, YOU GOT THAT STUCK IN MY HEAD AGAIN!

i went to sleep for a week straight with this annoying ass song stuck in my head...

its not bad but MAN IT GETS OLD

Redneck Rampage, I still remember all the songs. How many other games have a soundtrack by Mojo Nixon? None that's how many.

It would definitely have to be something from the DS remake of Final Fantasy 3, the music is a big reason for why it's one of my favorite games ever.

I guess my favorite would have to be <youtube=S88x6iLY3_8>
It just suited the black sea so well, it really reinforced the feeling of emptiness and desperation that the black sea already gave off.
Nobuo Uematsu is my god...

Well one's that have already been mentioned, obviously portal's ending ditty. L4D2 has some good 'shooting zombies to rock' stuff in the concert finale. Also ME, especially 2 had some really powerful bits of music, especially some of the mournful pieces. Also the radio on Fallout 3 had some songs which just fitted perfectly badly with the whole setting of the game if that makes sense.

Ones that haven't been mentioned.

Well, Jeff Waynes War of the Worlds, for obvious reasons (a computer game based on an album in many ways, that's how good the album was!). That may not really count though...

Also, KOTOR, the music that plays when you've got the launcher for the second game up before you actually load the game, that's some of the best music EVER, regardless of source in my opinion. (it's the second one and about 30 seconds long, have a quick listen)
