The Suffering. It's a surprisingly good horror/shooter. And I've never met one person who's heard of it.
I remember seeing this in the video store, looking at the front cover and laughing all afternoon with one of my mates.

Folklore for the ps3 is the only one I can think of at this moment, considering even the indie games I have are universally popular

I highly doubt any of these can be classified as truly obscure, but here are a couple that I own:

- Ubik for the PS1
- Ace Lightning for the PS2
- Frank Herbert's DUNE for the PS2
- Glass Rose for the PS2
- PsychoToxic for the PC
- Raging Blades for the PS2
- Deadly Strike for the PS2
- FreakOut (Stretch Panic) for the PS2

Also, kudos to you for mentioning Shadow of Destiny! (one of my favourite games)

There are a couple that I think are kinda obscure.

On the Game Cube, I have Geist, which was given to me for free years ago when I bought some other game. I never played it, but apparently EB Games just couldn't sell em so they literally started giving them away.

On the PS2, I got this game called Cold Fear which is a survival horror game, and SNK Battle Colosseum, which I've never heard anyone else mention playing.

On the original Xbox, I've got this game called Total Overdose, which is an open world game.

And on the SNES, I have a game called Drakken which is probably the first RPG I ever played. I bought it out of a bargain bin as a kid.

Those are the only games I have that I can bring up to almost anyone I know, even the ones who are deeply into gaming, and still get the response "huh?".

Either Obscure 2: The Aftermath or Enchanted Arms. I literally had never heard of Obscure, just saw it in GameStop and decided I wanted it. Ok game. Can be played in six hours easy.
I think that might have been the only reason anyone ever heard of Obscure 2 or bought it. Not bad though, 2 player survival/horror is a little trippy.

My most obscure would be Trapt for the PS2. I loved the Deception series, and I didn't even know an "unofficial" sequel was being made for ps2. Found out years later and had to find it on eBay.

The Last Dynasty, an old CD-Rom DOS game that was point and click and space combat, with some very bad FMVs. Wonder if anyone else has heard of it here.

Tell me the name of the most unrecognized game(s) you own and why you got it.
Mine would be "Shadow of Destiny" for the PS2. I walked by it at a bookstore and saw that it sold for only 2 dollars. The premise of a man going back in time trying to stop himself from being killed seemed interesting enough for the price. It was okay for it's time, mostly for the fact that it resolved problems through ways that wasn't just "Punch the thing" and "Shoot the thing". It was different so I would say it was worth the money. So how about you guys?
Funny, my obscure game is actually a spiritual successor of yours. I think it was the same director or maybe producer.

It's a game called Time Hollow, a point and click (or in this case, tap) adventure game for the DS. You play as a kid on his 16th birthday and awake to find your parents missing. Instead, you're under your uncle's care and you're in a time line where your parents disappeared years ago. Luckily, you get a pen that can create holes in time so that you can set things right.

It's one of my favorite games on the DS and I'm kind of disappointed it didn't get very noticed by anyone.

One Must Fall. The classic DOS robot fighting game.

Never met anyone else that's even heard of it.

The game itself really isn't that obscure, but Tales of Vesperia. I've seen exactly one physical copy of the game ever and it's the one I own. Everything else I own...isn't really obscure by any stretch of the word.

Monster Rancher 2 (PS1) and
Sins of a Solar Empire (PC) - (don't let it's cool title fool you, that game has destroyed me many times...)

Although Monster Rancher 2 was epic fun - a great game, appalling grammar, but a great game...

Ty The Tasmanian Tiger, for PS2 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ty_the_Tasmanian_Tiger

I loved that when I was a kid, but my opinion maybe tainted by nostalgia. I want to track that down. My PS2 still works, but I now have a 360 and a Wii. Should I look for a copy for PS2, XBOX, or GameCube?

By destroy you, what do you mean exactly? It's been a while since I've played it.

Game Center CX: Arino no Chousenjou 2 for Nintendo DS.

Japanese-only sequel to an already fairly obscure title.

Both games are awesome and the second's even got a fan translation in the works, so with any luck this won't be so obscure after so much time has passed.
