(Off-topic: Whew, I am so glad for the 'You must include a comment to create a thread' thing. I would have ended up with a no-text thread. >.<
Off-Topic again: I REALLY don't want to sound like I'm advertising here, I just wanted to ask the Escapist about this thing. If any of you guys think this is advertising, tell me, because I really take pride in having not gotten any moderator wrath on me thus far.)

Alright, so, I recently got this awesome toy called the NeoCube. Basically, it is 216 little balls(inb4 'balls' jokes) that are made of that neodymium stuff. Actually, that's really it, but they way they're presented, they work as a way to relieve stress, and to just generally be creative with.

And they are AWESOME.

So now on to the question: Do any of my fellow Escapists own a NeoCube? How do you feel about it? Do you think it's cool, or stupid, or fun, or a waste of money?(as it is rather expensive.)

Personally, like I said, I think they're fun to use, and are pretty cool otherwise. Even though they're expensive, they're enough fun that they're kind of worth it as long as you're willing to play with them.

You just made your own balls joke.

I got confused, and thought you were talking about Timecube. I gotta condition.

So is it just a ball made of smaller balls? Or like those magnet things that shred your insides when you eat them?

EDIT: Ah so, child-killing magnets it is.

I had something a little bit similar, but you used plastic panes, the balls were just to hold it together. That one looks more fun.

I don't own a NeoCube, but I do own two extremely powerful neodymium magnets which I love.

I use then to keep all of my loose metal iteams (keys, pocketknives, or whatever else I feel like sticking to it) together, find studs in the wall (they're powerful enough to stick to the wall if you put one on top of a metal stud), or anything else I think it might be useful for. If I leave something metal on it for long enough it starts to become magnatized itself.

Those are pretty cool...but what does it do?

I want one now. They seem nifty.
They're pretty nifty. I mean, straight away you won't be able to do anything THAT cool with it, but once you play with it for a while, you can do some really cool stuff.

I'm kind of interested in it. Some of the designs are really cool. And according to the website the magnets make bubble wrap sounds when they clack together. :]

Yeah.
Also, there's the CyberCube, which I'm pretty sure is another of those 'same thing different brand' things. I haven't looked very closely at their website, though, just heard the named mentioned in passing.

But BuckyBalls are available on ThinkGeek, as well, which I'm sure is a much more trustable(I know that's not a word, what's the one I'm looking for?) source than an independent website.

Wow, that looks like some pretty awesome time wasting.

I wonder how long it would last before you got bored with it.
