Well, with my degree over in about a month methinks it's time to look for a new place to call 'that place I crash'. I'm currently 21 but the whole problem with moving out is that I can't find anyone I know who wants to move out and rent prices are damned high at the moment thanks to the mortgage crisis.

The option that's left is to move into a share house with a bunch of random people that I don't know. To say I'm hesitant about that is a massive understatement. This brings up a point of introspection and one of extrospection (It's now a word thanks to me).

1. Am I being fussy by waiting until I can move into a place with people I know?

2. Is life at home so comfortable these days that the youth are really picky about where they move out to?

I'd go with the random people. Chances are you'll like at least 2 of them, hell, maybe you'll find a new best mate.

Move in with random people. If it goes tits up then you can always find a new place to live. Keep most of your stuff in storage/at your parent's home until you've got settled in so you're not carting all of your worldly belongings from one random house to another. It's a fairly large step to move in with people you've never met before, but it'll help in the long run I think.

I want to move out as soon as I can, actually. This isn't a situation of "Oh my god I fucking hate my parents angst angst angst" as much as I feel that I've outgrown the area I'm currently in. The entire place feels small. Restrictive even, like a sociological straitjacket.

Whether I move in with friends or not isn't as much of an issue with me. I tend to get along with people relatively well, and I have enough friends willing to lend a couch while I hunt for a place anyway.
