I think the trailer looks pretty awesome. I hate that Doomsday is the villain, but that is just my opinion. He was never a very good villain the comics, the only thing of note being that he killed Superman. Oh, and he does roll over pretty much every other hero too, which makes him badass, if not interesting. But we'll see.

I wish they'd stop pussy footing and try Brainiac (you know, Superman's actual nemesis - not the bald guy).

It looks and sounds awful and faintly embarrassing (what the feck is Jesse Eisenberg doing? is that acting?!)... So if it turns out to just be ho-hum or bad, it's a net gain for Snyder and co.

I just want to skip forward to Batman and Wonder Woman's solo films, as I like the look of Affleck as Wayne and Bats, and I'm hoping Wonder Woman will be the first decent female led superhero flick. If Gal keeps her Israeli accent, all the better, because it's sexy reasons. That we haven't heard the character speak yet might suggest she's doing an American accent that needs to be fixed in ADR...

As someone who has no idea who Doomsday is, can someone explain what the big deal is? I mean, he's obviously going to be used to force Batman and Superman to work together, which is an incredibly lazy way of doing that. But is he actually an interesting character that's wasted on this movie, or is my initial impression of "generic big-ass monster" basically correct?
Well, to be fair, whenever a hero fights a hero in comics, about 99% of the time there is a reason for two good guys to stop fighting to defeat someone who is actually bad. It's not lazy at all, it's actually more like the comics than WB/DC is used to doing in movies.

Also, your initial impression as a generic bad ass monster is pretty on point, in my opinion. I like to think of him as an even more generic Solomon Grundy. He was only ever interesting because he was so much stronger than pretty much everyone but Superman. The issue is that he is just a huge brute and nothing else. He isn't intelligent or cunning, he doesn't even really talk. He just smashes things and hates Superman.

..Did Batman have a gun at the end there? Was Lex overly cartoony? You know what, I'm going to call this movie an overall success if this Lex winds up stealing 40 cakes. Still looking forward to Dr. Strange and Deadpool a bit more but I'm crossing my fingers for this goofy new Eisen-Luthor to regale Clark and Bruce about the time he stole 40 cakes.

Do not watch the trailer if you intend to watch the movie... they spoil every plot point in the movie. If there's more plot points than they reveal in the trailer, this movie will be even worse than the first Synder Superman, and that's saying a lot.

Are you for real? "Spoiled plot points" in a DC comic based movie is very, very hard to come by....considering that the DC comics have spoiled them for ages. Also there are the animation movies that have already done this time and time again too. There is nothing that really shouldn't be spoiled already. However it is a live action movie of starting up the Justice League, so knowing the plot or not I'm all for it.

Doomsday was a bioweapon. Krypton science made him a thing which could regenerate in an evolving pattern, adapting to whatever took him down, plus retaining all previous adaptations. His hate boner for superman was based on him being kryptonian, which was associated with like a billion horrible painful deaths in the lab.

Remember that storyline where doomsday eventually continued his evolution cycle to being intelligent, felt guilty for killing superman (again), and adopted his mantle?....then...time traveled back and saved him or something. Comics are weird.

I was on the fence with it and started to become more positive when they had the talk between Clark and Bruce. An ready rumours that they could have had a fake superman that causes all the problem. But that it went down the toilet when the laugable looking cgi monster appeared. It looks stupid, is it really difficult to just make a cgi version of the comic character? So currently i think i will enjoy the movie but the last 3rd of the movie will be terrible. No comment on Wonder Woman yet as they havnt shown anything of her yet of her interacting with other characters.

That bit with Clark, Wayne and Lex felt forced. And not very funny. And now it looks that Doomsday is a clone-gone-wrong of Zod? Oh my world the Nerd Rage will be strong with this one.

Yeah, this trailer has done nothing to make me not think this movie will be crap. Not only because it's a sequel to one of the worst movies I have ever seen, Man of Steel, but because this all just looks horribly forced.

And the worst part, is that it started to get me. The meeting between Bruce and Clark was pretty decent. Having them verbally spar over which alter-ego is the bigger menace. However, it really seems like they are backing down from the whole, "The world fears Superman after witnessing what he did to Metropolis and killed a man" that earlier trailers had implied.

Then (not)Lex Jokthur showed up. And God damn it, DC. You almost made this look good. You almost had me. But the illegitimate son of Lex Luthor and the Joker (Mind you this isn't Lex) ruined it. He's not a good villain. Even when he tried to be intimidating, I couldn't take him seriously. It's like having a child threaten you.

And wow. So that's what they're doing with Doomsday. They're pulling a Venom. He's going to appear in the last half hour and our characters will finally team up. God, that looks awful. And Doomsday looks like a Bay Ninja Turtle.

So, here's my prediction of the plot.
Batman and Superman don't trust each other. (Not)Lex Jokthur fans the flames and they fight. The first time, Batman will lose, but manage to escape. Then, he'll come back with the Power Armor. Superman will likely pull him out of the armor, but then Doomsday shows up and they team up with Wonder Woman to fight him. The movie ends with them deciding to form the Justice League.

Then, because they are trying to copy Marvel but force it much faster, there will be an after credits scene. In it (not)Lex Jokthur, or maybe even the real Lex Luthor, will state that he intends to form the Legion of Doom to kill the Justice League.

Man, is this bad. Each trailer makes it look worse and worse.

I know the director claims this won't be cluttered. But Superman, Wonderwoman, Batman, Luthor and Doomsday? I simply don't see how all those characters and villains can be introduced all at once without serious clutter.
Don't forget Aquaman and Cyborg. Pretty sure they are supposed to appear in it, too.

if you don't mind sparing a good 15 minutes, this [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PlwDbSYicM] (rather hilarious) video goes over the series of comics that introduce the original Doomsday.
Wow, that is... the perfect combination of corporate cynicism and stupidity. Why am I not surprised?
On the bright side, I found a new youtube channel to subscribe to, so thanks!

EDIT: And then I realise he only has the one video :(

Maybe the reason for such an early Doomsday reveal is to build him up to a point at which he really is powerful enough to kill superman. I believe he's meant to evolve and adapt to his opponents, right?

Perhaps Doomsday will appear again in the DCCU

Wow... I'm really digging Luthor a lot more than I was beforehand...

Other than that, Aquaman's so going to get the final punch... :p
Thanks, me... Too bad I have no comment on those flying insect drones since they seem more surprising that Doomsday right now... :p

Ugh, that final bit of the trailer may have ruined the entire movie for me. We're supposed to buy into the epic, titanic clash of ideologies between Batman and Superman, and they're going to go ahead and jump to the part where the two team up? Just because we knew it was going to happen doesn't mean we needed to have it spoon-fed to us in a trailer six months before the film comes out. For me, at least, much of the stakes and drama of the battle between Batman and Superman will be lost because of that shot.

It would be like if the Civil War trailer had a clip of Thanos showing up and Tony and Steve giving each other the ol' "bro nod" before taking him on together. If you're going to sell a massive rift between two beloved superheros, don't immediately undercut it. Sheesh.

Dude Lex Luthor's mere presence undercuts that plot element of the clash of ideologies. I knew SOMETHING like this was gonna happen regardless because I am sorry to say this but Superhero movies especially when it comes to such iconic characters....ARE PREDICTABLE.

You want unpredictablility go watch Game of Thrones.

I honestly just can't get over how Batman is gonna effectively fight Superman.

I saw the Frank Miller animated movie and it is still a bunch of "I'm not gonna hurt you Batman." Batman was just being a little brat at that point.

I also don't understand why Superman would not like another costumed hero as this trailer suggests. He fights criminals. What else do you want? Super hypocritical.

And then Batman makes a jab about costumes?! More Hypocritical, not a burn at all.

Excited for Wonder Woman, though I wished she was more muscular.
Batman has a reputation for resorting to extreme methods that even other costumed heroes frown upon. Torture, B&E, mutilating criminals etc. Add in that Clark doesn't know him personally and it's easy to see why Superman is wary of him.

As for how Batman will fight Superman, lets wait until we see the movie. Though I didn't see this complaint when the Civil War trailer ended with Steve and Bucky beating up a fully armored Iron Man.
