So microsoft has finaly stood up and decided that PC gamers need something thats quivilent to that of XBL, of course we already have something AKA. Steam but dont tell them its a secret.

The plan is to make PC gamers pay for content using the same system as XBL.

Now as a PC gamer I personaly think this is a horrible plan aa large portion of the games that sport the Windows Only logo dont even have Live support or achievment points.
This an attempt to unify the PC gaming community, which will go in vain.
Steam is proberly as good as a single community of PC gamers as we are going to get to.

Lastly I dont think paying for extra maps and gamer pictures is going to fly with PC gamers, when you're on a console and can't make new maps thats a different story but a majority of pc games come with some kind of editor.

While we're on the topic, I find microsoft points extremely annoying, which is why I never bought anything when I had a 360. You buy them in increments of 500's, 1000's and so on, but stuff usaly ends up costing 800 or 1200. Dick move Micro$oft.

PC gamers!
Let me know what you think of this.

I thought they'd bailed on the idea of paid windows live systems after they were exposed to the epic fail that it brought.
I know with universe at war (which was games for windows or w/e) you had to pay for the multiplayer service (although random matchmaking was free) and the game failed more or less because of this. My understanding is that the system is still being forced on gamers, but it has been vastly improved and is no longer subscription based.
Could be wrong though, I don't recall where I read that.

I have had no problem with windows live although I can see why some people may hate it.

"New"? I thought this was how GFW Live always worked.
Or rather, how it didn't work.
