Jacob stared coldly at the metal mutant as he formulated a strategy, he then looked over at Adrian and said "Go with something powerful, a hammer or mace then go with a giant swing for his legs... I am going to take this ***** down!".
Malcolm struggled to his feet, ignoring the pain. He staggered outside and muttered, "Heal," to a nearby tree. The same process he had used before did its work, returning him to full health and fitness.
Malcolm turned to Jacob and Adrian. "What can I do to help?"
Wes rushed out and stood behind Xi, and nodded to the others. I can blind him when they make a move. I don't think I'll be able to get through that armor.
Malcolm shouted, "Immobilize!" again. This time the vines lashed themselves around the mutant's torso in addition to his limbs, pinning him to the ground.
Maddox stepped back as far as he could, and began running. He transfered energy from the air to his limbs, and jumped twelve feet into the air. As he began his descent, he was above the now metal-less mutant who was pinned to the ground with vines. He absorbed more energy from the air and the sun, and struck their enemy with a powerful drop-kick to his chest, which knocked up the dust around them.
"Hit him hard!" Maddox yelled, as he moved back from Xi. He focused the energy around him and shot a ray of heat energy(upwards of 250 degrees F) at the downed mutant.
Xi stands up from the dust. Your powers conflict with each other, he states flatly, a burn mark on his chest, you freed me from the vines, thank you.
He cracks his shoulders, feeling his real body for the first time in months, two long mineral spikes erupt from his back, going from his shoulder blades up in arc above his shoulders then falling to his legs, looking like wing spines with a cruel point at the end.
And it was nice of my target to show himself... he drawls turning from the others to face Magneto standing in the clearing, but you are weak, he says with a thin smile, the first emotion he's shown.
But first your little minions will die, he snarls turning back to the others.
The spikes bend under Xi's arms, flexing wildly at the the mutants surrounding him.
Who wants to die? the conditioning was starting to wear off, his emotion was beginning to return.
"Thorns," Malcolm said, pointing a finger at his enemy. A nearby rose grew to ten times its size in seconds and began to shoot its thorns at the mutant.
Wes approached Xi from behind quietly. As soon as he got within effective range, he reached out and engulfed the reformees upper body in smoke. Xi lashed out with the mineral spikes and swung them in all directions. One clipped Wes in the rib just as he phased totally into smoke.
The smoke vanishes where Wes cast it. It reveals nothing but the mutants on the other side and a slight blood trail that disappears after a small distance.
Boo, emits a growl from behind Malcolm. One of the spikes flies over Malcolm's shoulder, aimed at his forearm.
Xi darts forward, smashing the giant rose over, taking a few thorns to the chest in the process.
He plucks them out as the rose melds into the ground again.
"Why aren't they getting through to him?" Casa asks Magneto as he wanders out of the tent, "are we truly so weak we can't get through to one of our own, and why can I not bring myself to..."
I know not, Magneto sighs shaking his head, cutting Casa off, he seems to know our tactics, which would mean we have a traitor in our midst, but how does he know how the new pair attack? he mumbles under his breath.
Xi dashes towards Casa and Magneto, hearing them talking.
WHY DO YOU COWER? he yells as they dodge out of the way.
"Because we have no reason to kill you Xi," Casa sighs lightly, staring at the mutant, "you have changed since you left," he mumbles as Xi's fist collides with his jaw, smashing Casa to the ground.
Xi turns back to Magneto, will you leave with me in peace? Or will I need to kill your lackeys before you leave?
Magneto shakes his head again before hovering up and past Casa lying on the floor, dodging Xi's spike without looking back.
The, now berserk Xi turns back to the remaining mutants.
You will suffer now! he screams at them, before charging at Maddox.
know it seems a bit insane, but it will draw this fight to a close soon, and we can move on >.>
Maddox was weakened after those attacks against Xi. That drop-kick from such a high altitude had seriously been painful.
"You will suffer now!" The enemy mutant yelled at Maddox, charging. Maddox realized that he had little time to do what he planned, but hopefully it would work.
"You're the one who'll be suffering!" Maddox stood his ground and waited for Xi's charge to connect with him. When it did, Maddox immediately transfered as much energy as he could from the blow, back at Xi. The force knocked the large mutant back several feet, but it also knocked Maddox to the ground.
"Urgh..." Maddox muttered as he pulled himself up. Xi was reeling from the blow, as Maddox had transfered the energy into a punch to the groin.
