I was really looking forward to this movie because the previews showed a movie with a lot of action, and fighting scenes in it, and what i saw was a 2 and a half hour drama with light action. I wouldn't complain if they had not adverticed this as the wrong movie so im angry that they lied to me. So who else was dissapointed by this movie.

Impossible to be disappointed with a movie you care nothing for, and so aren't going to see.

The trailer made the movie look good? To get people to go and see it? How absurd!

Srs face.
I've never been much of a fan of Harry Potter. The books were okay at best, but I never got the big deal with the films.
I slept through them when I was little, I could probably sleep through them now.

EDIT:
You could probably guess, but just to clarify; I haven't been to see the new Harry Potter.
Think I'm one of about four people in my entire college who can say that.

Well, considering how all the good bits are in the second half, I'm not all that surprised. The first half of the book was just one bloody long camping trip.

If it turns out that things are just as slow in July though, then I'll be annoyed.

Even if I liked books, movies kinda ruined whole Harry Potter thing for me. Because of them I dont call myself a fan.

Have you read the books? Because if you have, you would have known all they do is freaking walk around the woods for 400 pages. They made a good movie based on the material they had to work with, not great, but watchable. And really, they are just setting up the next one.

Maybe you should've, I don't know, read the fucking book? Seriously, I don't get you people who just see the movies, of course you're not going to like it, you have no context as to what's going to happen! Jesus Christ.

But also, the 2nd part is going to be the shit. Just saying.

Well said. Saw the movie myself on Friday, and I was actually not disappointed at all. After six first adaptations of the books, excluding the first one, I went to the theatre without no expectations at all, and I was surprised that made a walk in the woods that entertaining. I don't know about you, but I felt this one was a step up from the romantic-comedy splash the sixth movie was, where (Spoiler alert!) Snape runs off, and then, "Oh, and by the way, I am the half-blood prince. See you next year!" I really did not enjoy watching that.

Since the movie isn't coming to my country for about a month I downloaded the 30 minute "preview" and from what I've seen it's damn good. In fact, I think it will surpass Half Blood Prince as my favorite Harry Potter movie.

Saw it yesterday, and I actually thought it was one of the best Harry Potter films. It was pretty much exactly like the book, which is in itself a plus. Heck, they even got the boring camping part right(though I still enjoyed it)!

To quote someone else, "Trailers Lie." They made the first half like it was in the book, more of a buildup, drama with light action. You cant fault a movie for being what it was supposed to be. Im sorry you were underwhelmed but that trailer was for both parts I think. Dont buy so much into movie trailers, thats all ive got.

I have not read any of the books, and got excited for the movie by the previews.

what did you expect? saw with wands? this is afterall a kids movie, and for what its worth I think this movie is alot better off for not being as crammed full of "action" (I know you use the term differently to the way I'm using it) the past 6 films have all felt like 2.5 hour trailers for the movie that should have been made, that would have featured all the immersive minutiae that made the books great in the first place, its also the first movie were they actually felt like teenagers rather than what some mother with a pen wishes her kids were like,

I'm ranting i know, but the only thing I found disappointing about this movie is that they didn't start making them this good 6 movies ago, rather rather than the cliff note crap for attention challenged morons.

My main complaint is they showed a whole bunch of action scenes in the previews and it did show them in the movie, so its false adverticing.

I loved it.
Plus, if you realised, the trailer actually advertises both parts. It states their release dates, but it advertises them together. That action is in part 2.
It is NOT false advertising.
If you'd read the book, you'd know that.

This. I loved it, but I'm sad because now I know that they could have, if they wanted to, put in the effort and included all the great side stories and shit they missed out from the other books.
This makes the previous films, bar the first three, look crap by comparison to me.

Ouch, only negative Harry Potter comments. Not gonna refute them but I'd like to say that I love Harry Potter. There. However, I agree with your opinion about the seventh movie; while sitting through it I felt like I was watching "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows; Abridged". I don't agree with your reasoning about why it was a bad, but I do agree that it didn't meet my expectations.
