TOGSolid: You help restore my faith in humanity... and that's the highest compliment I know.

Terminator: I enjoyed the hell out of your post, but alot of the things like mouse and KB I went over 5 times already and am quite tired of repeating. And the "better" thing.... Ive answered that one like 10.. ok lets make it 11. I said it was easier to use Home, it's easier to drive than walk, easier to turn on a light than start a fire (no "flame" pun intended). PS3 is "bad" because you've been told so.... here's another thing you been told... there is a Devil and you'll go to hell for not going to church every Sunday. Home exists though... seen pictures, never seen a picture of the Devil though. And Blue-ray... too easy.

I did like your rant at the end where your intelligence deteriourated into "bait".

Again TOGSolid, appreciate the honestly.

Besides, you're missing the importance of a keyboard for blogging and myspace (unless PS3 has a keyboard, correct me if I am wrong).
And comeon.... The importance of PrOn (j/k)

But if "home" can access any website the PC can, why can't it be exposed to the same viruses?

And you're forgetting this... http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/editorials/op-ed/5172-The-Needles-Piracy-Bad-For-You-Good-For-Them
1st up, ya I haven't used a PC for a year (typed all this on wireless KB), instead I use a PS3 on a $4000 LG.

2nd, ya... you can pirate with PS3... but I never would because it will come back and bite us on the ass.

3rd, there is no Virus as of yet for the PSBrowser and Home (browser), doesn't meen there won't ever be... just 100% safe atm. And it seems in Sony's best interest to nip a virus app in the bud... which will kill the market of selling you a fix for your entertainment system.

Lastly, great article... opened my mind upa bit more... thank you.
No thanks to the guy who rewrote your entire post in a coherent fashion? It even rerailed the topic. Give the man/woman some props.

I want to go back to the bits where he talked about adrenaline and human evolution.
I was staring at his posts laughing my ass off wondering how much Sony was paying him.

No, you said that Home was so superior to the PC that it would no longer have something to justify it's existence, lemme quote it: "PS3 has the ability to do all the apps %99 of people use their computers for.... really its just a PC but super cheap and reliable... again the way of the future. Change is scary, but it is an undeniable constant."

You also keep addressing everyone else as if they were a sort of primitive primates, below your own glorious self, this gets rather irritating.

You had your faith in humanity restored by someone agreeing with you on the subject of consoles? kinda? what the hell dude?

Let me ask something else of this thing, is capable of sending emails? does it have text editors & coding programs? these are a very short list of the programs I operate from the same computer that I use for gaming.

I don't expect you to answer these questions, you've ignored everything else I wrote.

Let me clarify these previous statements (I'll try to be unbias). I beleive Home is easier to use than Vista or the other apps on PC with the same entertainment aspect. Example, why sign up for someones ventrilo when you can just "walk" 5ft. Why go to your WoW guild webpage when it's already in the same game. Think of the 1st thing you were ever addicted to on the internet (besides porn) then imagine if you will that same application in a Home. Shit... EQOA was my 1st online addiction, and honestly looking back I can say it was because I played it 10ish years ago on an EASY to use PS2.

On top of this just look at the numbers. PS1 and PS2 have each sold over 100million units worldwide and (this is the important part) they still work.... I have a old ass PS2 that's seen far more use-time than any of my 3 PCs. It is very possible you will see the PS3 still selling 10 years from now for $100 dollars. It really is a great "alternative" to the personal computer... which again the majority of people only buy PCs for entertainment through the internet.

I'm not trying to come across as condesending, I just see no point in insults... many people though history "seem" condesending for that very reason. I'm only human though... I fuck up just as much (if not more) than the next guy.

The faith in humanity was due tothe unbias statement from the person that obviously knows alot about PCs but had an open mind.

Yes you can Email. Text editors are in it (admittedly I find them a pain in the ass). Have no idea what a coding program is though.

I don't meen to ignor anybody here, sometimes I just get sidetracked by another comment. I appologize if I frustrate you.

Another fact I'de like to bring to everyones attention:

If you have every played any MMO you will understand what I am about to point out.
In WoW you had a central hub known as either Orgimmar or Shatrath (as Horde) where people couldn't fight but instead would stand and show off their "epics" (collectible clothing) all day and socialize. In Home Orgimmar and Shatrath have been replaced by huge central hubs where people can't fight but will show off their "epics" all day from ANY game on the system.

Then when their friends came on they would go to a dungeon (seperate level/game) to work together and socialize, This reinforces bonds and makes the game highly addictive. The dungeon has now been replaced by every game that is released with an online component. They even have a shooter coming early November named Resistance 2 where you have a group of 8 consisting of Tanks, Healers, and DPS classes that work together to defeat multiple NPCs and bosses, or fight together in a 64 person arenas (if that isn't a WoW rip-off I don't know what is).

In MMORPGs people will spend all day doing mindless tasks that aren't fun at all IMO for the chance to receive items/gold to show off to their friends. This is more a reflection of the ability for even one player games on the system to attract users to get to the end, or play though multiple times in order to get items/gold.

Now think about the online shooter you were most addicted to, did it have a social structure that was a driving force behind it that would draw you back more times than you can count? Well all those same benifits will be in Home shooting games, but add to them the ability to have war rooms (tree house) in order to bond with those peirs without the tension of being killed. And having your rank/guns/w.e go with you to all other online games.

I played WoW for... we will say a year (and yes I was top DPS 90% of fights so lets not go there), and one of the huge drawback was that after all the time and energy I put into the game I was forced to leave the items/gold I had earned behind, in every shooter I played I was forced to leave my rank/items/money behind. Now remember every game you ever loved and imagine the ability to take ALL the things you earned with you back to your Home and use them for other games.... IMO it's the online gaming communities evolution.

The future of online gaming is in your Home, will you be?
