I mean, seriously, pink hair?

I'll give the show a change, nostalgia demands it, but the character designs are really making me go WTF?

I never watched Thundercats as a kid (I was too young to remember it), but I've seen the characters. I can see why you'd be pissed off. They do look a bit douchey

Weaboo-jeaboo-bakugan.

That's "RAEG" for "Thundercats did not need a remake, especially a remake where it looks waaaaay to much like anime."

Eh, here's the way I see it:

Right now, we are getting 0 ThunderCats. New cartoon means Thundercats = >0. Even if the new cartoon is no good, it might cause someone to remake the old toys, like He-Man and Transformers are getting.

I watched the originals when they were new in the 80's and I say, this new one looks fine art wise. To me Liono's hair isn't pink, it actually looks like there is blue added to the red which makes it more a purple than pink. Either way it looks fine to me.

The overall design looks more updated to today's animation style while still keeping most of the original design. Especially with the weapons. Cheetara also looks much more physically expressive in this art work. In the original it was Liono, Panthro, and Mummra that had physical expression; the others weren't so much expessive.

I think this is good as long as the stories are good. The first one had some decent ones. It seems in recent years depending on the audience the toon/anime is aimed at the stories can be very sophisticated and not insulting to intelligence (Avatar: The last Air Bender). I hope that is the case here. In the original the stories would tank when they focused on the twins or Snarf. Snarf was written in for comic refief, exposition, plot convenience, etc. Because of this he felt forced a lot and not an actual character. Simular with the twins. Mummra was also painfully one dimensional. They don't have make him hardcore fleshed out here, but at least give him a little more to do than to Pinky and the Brain the Thundercats. "What are we going to do this week Mummra?"..."Same thing we do every week, kill the Thundercats."

I don't think they ever showed Thundercats in my country, sooo... I don't even know what they're about. Well, maybe I'll have a chance to check it out if this new one will be brought here in some form?

Holy crap, Panthro looks badass now. Same with Cheetara. And Liono...well, he does look less like a clown now.

I might have to look this up. I was fond of the Thundercats show (cheese and all) when I was a kid, I'd like to see how this measures up.

Lion-O looks too young, but beyond that everyone else looks good.
I'm really curious as to what Snarf looks like in this update.

The second image is getting me more interested to the remake show. There's no point judging it now from the image alone until I have seen the first episode.

Liono is supposed to look young. If memory serves me he was under 18 for most of the shows run and on his 18th birthday had to do a test to be the leader. He had to fight and beat all the other Thundercats individually.

Does Cheetara look underage to anyone else now?
...Maybe
wtf is snarf....
Snarf was an indistinguishable cat like thing. His gimmick was he said the word "snarf" every other word. Giving him the name Snarf. He could get annoying after a while.
