The new xbox browser update

This is one of the only times i will willingly use IE. right now im typing to with a controler which is as hard as it always has been. the browser itself is great for a console but i cant watch any videos on the escapist any thoughts on cousole browsers?

I used the PS3 browser for a little while, way back when the PS3 was still relatively new.

It was ... not very good. But, it was something.

Do you need to be a Gold member to use IE on the 360?

I haven't tried it yet. The PS3 one was just annoying and unwieldly. If they get it right, I could see using it to look up stuff and browse a couple of sites. I am disappointed to hear that the Escapists videos don't work. How are they on other sites? No I don't mean THOSE sites... but while you are checking.

Unless they've changed it since I last tried, pretty much no video works, although admittedly I haven't tried those sites so they may well work.

OT: It isn't as terrible as I was expecting it to be, but since I've pretty much got my laptop besides me at most times, it's rather pointless for me.

I suppose it's a clever way for them to attempt to regain some of the market share they've lost, but I can't imagine I'd use it much. If I wanted to browse the internet I'd use a computer or my phone, way less hassle than the xbox.

I think the real question here is: is the browser good enough for people who want to stream porn on their big TV without going through the trouble of hooking their PC up?

Because lets be honest here, that's the only thing anyone is planning to do with the browser.

I couldn't make any videos work but I havn't tried any porn sites yet so i'm not sure...
