I was confused as hell for a minute, as I recognise that name as a footballer as opposed to an actor =PMarter said:Alternatively, Craig Conway, although he's not a "known name," and therefore would never get it. Elba would be cool with me, too.
Apart from the fact he's white. He was written that way!Uhura said:I don't see any reason why Bond has to be a white guy.
I just don't think being white is that vital part of the character. James Bond was also originally written as a black haired man and neither Roger Moore nor Daniel Craig has black hair. I mean I understand that casting Elba or some other non-white actor would not sit well with a lot of Bond-fans but I just personally wouldn't have any problem with it.Private Custard said:Apart from the fact he's white. There's no denying Idris Elba has great charisma, and looks great in a suit. But bond's a posh white guy.
I like the cut of your jib Slayer. Before Craig was chosen there were some talks that Hugh Jackman was up for the job. I support my fellow Australians so theres my vote. Personally I would like to see the franchise take a different route. Back when Pierce Bronson was new to the tux, Quentin Tarrantino had an idea to take it back to the 60's but grittier. Something along the lines of what would become the Bourne Identity and the Incredibles (set wise anyways). That would be awesome to see.Froggy Slayer said:Who would you guys like to see as the next James Bond? For me, it's Idris Elba.
