The next MGS = Iphone?

A few weeks back I posted a thread regarding an image that appeared on the Kojima Productions site hinting at the next metal gear. Seems so new details have emerged, the magazine famitsu has a picture up of what seems to be MGS on the iphone.

I guess its a matter of opinion. It's ugly to me just because I was expecting something bigger, not necessarily mgs coming to 360, but something more.

You mean like Metal Gear Solid 5?

Honestly no MGS5 was the last thing I was expecting to be announced. Possibly another PSP game, 360 port, remake of some kind.

I don't see how this is a bad thing, it's a spinoff 'shooting game.' If you don't like it, don't play it. It really is that simple. I'm glad Kojima experiments like this, remember how great Boktai was? Even if it doesn't work, who cares?

I'd count an NGage as a regular mobile that is a console. Arguably much much worse than an iPod or iPhone.

I wont argue about it being worse, cause the little i've seen about it suck , though i dont count it as a console seeing as its primary function is as a telephone, and not as a gaming platform

I've just registered to say that I'm very displeased with the whole situation. Money has exchanged hands here.

For Kojima to criticise the 360's capabilities and then go and create a MGS game for iPhone just like that seems completely unreal.

I can't wait to hear Kojima's comments on this decision.

I just have a problem with the teaser campaign. I could see it for another Ac!d game. I really could, but the installed base of iPhone gamers can't be higher then the base of PSP gamers. The latter being a gaming machine after all. I'm all for experimentation, but it slays me how people are reacting to this. You have Sony fans bashing 360 fans and vice versa.

I really just don't understand the teaser. I guess my only hope is some switcharoo going to happen and Kojima is making a side product for.. who knows. A new spin on MGS or something for a system with a bit more power then an iPhone would seem more appropriate for this whole situation.

His name was Gray Fox, and there was also a ninja in MGS2, Olga Russianovich. It doesn't have to be any of them though, it could just be a new character that's not involved in the previous storylines.

Actually, the iTouch has more potential than any other handheld (excluding the Pandora). It simply lacks any good games. But the processor time is much better than the PSP or DS, not to mention the higher screen resolution.
