I believe the future of console gaming will be downloads.

While it'll be sad to say goodbye to the case and manual I think it will benefit the console gamers a lot more.

The advantage of the easy distribution could also make it more appealing for more games to be localized and distributed by download because there is less risk in release.

I don't know, I can't see physical copies of games becoming a thing of the past, it would be a pretty big blow to the economy of places like Japan for one thing. Cutting out the retailers would cause problems aswell as solve them, digital distribution will become bigger but I don't see it taking over completely.

Naa, I reckon we'll still be with Physical Copies until maybe...the time when PC gaming becomes the lord of games. Which..inevitably, it will.

I don't believe that's likely, most people aren't prepared or inclined to spend a lot of money on a gaming rig.

I think we'll see PC support suffer in the upcoming years, also it looks like the xbox 360 has more backing from Microsoft than games for windows.

Considering that a PC is not only for gaming, and these a good PC costs around 750-1000 euros...and you will probably need to upgrade such PC in 3-5 years...

PC's arent expensive and everyone in the near future will need one. So if you going to get one, might as well be good aye?

Why people think that PC is the thing you use to surf internet only. It's same as console but has lots of more options and upgrading them ceeps the price low too.

Like Steam, but for consoles?
Sounds good to me. Games today are limited by how much can fit in a DVD or two, and I think that limit is removed when uploaded to the Internet.

Now you have the much lss convenient limit of time taken to do so and the bandwidth you use whilst downloading. No net connection? you're screwed.
