It would probably have an far east theme to introduce the pandarens and the runemaster as a hero class.

The next wow expansion should uninstall the game and format the hard drive.

No new expansions, just create servers that only run the original game (level cap 60 and all that) with the patch that was right before burning crusade. Maybe I would actually play the game again then...

I quit playing WoW after it started feeling like I was working a second full-time job, so really, I could give a rat's ass, but for conversations sake, here's my picks...
I think that the Emerald Dream is where they are going to go next. I've got WoWMapviewer and Modelviewer, and I stumbled across some emerald dream content, so it would seem that they've already laid a modest bit of groundwork (very modest). Its not a lot, but it's there, so this would appear to be their next move.
What I would prefer to see, would be total closure on the burning legion. Sargeras is still out there somewhere. Even though there's a 'tomb of Sargeras' in the Broken Isles, it only holds his avatar. His essence is sealed away in the twisting nether, held in limbo, so he isn't dead and buried, just missing in action. That's why Archimone and Kil'Jaden were acting as de-facto commanders of the burning legion. Both Archimonde and Kil'Jaden risked everything to have access to the residual energies of the Well of Eternity, which were concentrated at Nordrasil on Mt. Hyjal, and the Sunwell.
Why the obsession with energy sources that were created from the original Well of Eternity? The Well was what Azhara used to create the very first portal for Sargeras and the Burning Legion to enter Azeroth originally, but the intervention from Cenarius and Alextraza caused the portal to implode, creating the Malestrom and throwing Sargeras into limbo. Only this raw, primal energy will be able to fuel the magics required to free Sargeras and finally bring him to Azeroth.
10,000 years later, Queen Azhara still rules the Naga on Azeroth, and over the millenia, has become the most powerful mage alive, with knowledge equal to that of Medivh, and could be capable of finding a way to free Sargeras, re-open the original portal, and finally bring the Dark Titan himself to Azeroth.
There are 3 remaining traces of the original Well still in existance. Of the original 7 vials of eternity that Illidan created just before the sundering, 3 were later used by Illidan to create the Second Well of Eternity at the base of the World Tree, one was used to create the Sunwell at Quel'Thalas. Illidan, Lady Vash and Kael'thas each posess the 3 remaining vials. Everything needed to set off the second war of the ancients is ready to go.

Emerald Dream (Pretty much confirmed is it not, with models already in game? Deathwing as big-bad-boss man)

After that, probably either of these, or maybe both as one

1. Maelstorm
2. Undermine

This fits in with Blizzard announced '1 Major release per year'

2009 - Starcraft II + Emerald Dream
2010 - Diablo III + 4th Expansion
2011 - Unannounced MMO

How about let WOW die? Seriously its just getting rediculous now.
Everquest (original) has 15 expansions.
EVE Online has 10.
EverQuest II has 5.
Final Fantasy XI has 4.
Dark Age of Camelot has 7.

WoW's subscriber base is still growing. It's by no means close to dying :p It won't die for a long, long time - games like EQ1 and Asheron's Call are still going.

Nostalgia is a powerful, powerful thing.

It's bizarre that people would want to play a game where if you weren't a 40-man raider you were nothing with a PvP system that literally ruined lives.

Wow: the matrix.

Understanding the truth that you are not a level 70 epic paladin, but a nerd. And you smell. And dont have a girlfriend. And wear glasses. And... Well you get the idea.

But serriousilly, i bet it will have something to do with nagas.

This is a question for people remotely familiar with the god of MMOS, world of warcraft.According to the website, there will be other expansions coming along the way, but my question is what should they be about.I think that the next one may be about the emerald dream, but id just like to hear out opinions.
Icarus, I know its been done in quite a few other games, but just imagaine, if it was a giant battleground, where you fight on flying mounts, mages can cast spells on mounts, and warriors and melee characters can order their gryphons to swoop in and slice with your sword as you get close.

How WICKED would that be?

Given that they're already experimenting with mounted combat in the Argent Tournament, I wouldn't be surprised.

Ok, let me put up something regarding people wanting Pandaren as a playable race. It's never gonna happen. The WoW guys are real punching bags when it comes to anything regarding the Chinese. They had to cover up the bones on undead and abomination models, and they had to remove all the skeletons (what sense does that make on the Lich King's front door?), so if you're hoping that the Pandaren, a race based heavily around pandas, a highly endangered species and something that China is dead-set on protecting, are involved, you're dead wrong. They would not let the expansion out there because to them, showing even virtual harming of pandas breaks the endangered species laws they have adn they will immediately break out the murder sticks. I don't think they'd be diametrically opposed to seeing the pandaren in the expansion, but in a way that you can't hurt them. Which means there's a possibility of Pandaria becoming a Sanctuary, but the possibilty of Pandaren being playable is somewhere between zero and none.

Goblins might be an acceptable 'neutral' race, though. They have a male and female model, they have a well-established capital (Undermine), they have their own language (which I do not know what it is called, I assume Goblin), and they have a number of possibilities of racial leaders, the goblin Trade Princes (Ratso Steamwheedle leading the Steamwheedle Cartel, Mogul Razdunk leads the Venture Co., et cetera). Goblins also have a number of open ideas for racials, like a passive bonus to Alchemy (Mix Master) and a resistance to Fire damage (Fireproof). They would however need their own attack/cast/walk/run/etc. animations (they all currently use the animations of male dwarves, with the exception of the males' dance) and the playables would need their own dialogue lines. There's also the question of what classes they would have access to. Warrior, Mage, Warlock and Rogue are obvious choices, but I think they need one or two more. The last thing against them is what would they use for mounts? Would they follow the gnomes' idea and use a mechanized version of a bunch of animals (mechano-horse, mechano-wolf, mechano-tiger and mechano-raptor, maybe?) or would they just use one-seater go-karts or something? Actually, that go-kart idea sounds pretty plausable.

Another possibility of a neutral race is ogres. They have a well-established set of classes to choose from (Warrior, Mage, Priest, Warlock, Shaman, Hunter), they have their own established casting, attacking, dancing and other animations, and they are completely impartial to who they work with. However, what they have seems to be evened out by what they don't have, in much the same way the goblins do. They don't have an established leader or capital, they don't have a real language (most just speak broken common or broken orcish) and they don't have a female model. One could argue that they reproduce asexually and just give them one- or two-headed models, which actually might make a decent substitute. And again, they don't have their own lines or mounts.

EDIT: And I know there are a lot of WoW haters out there, but even so, this is a topic dedicated to fan speculation of what to expect next. If you hate WoW that much, make a thread about it and go there to hate. Or at least give a reason why you hate it to make your argument more valid.

I'd love to be able to fly on a dragon and shoot fireballs to people down below.

Probably the emerald dream, although a dungeon(probably raid) where we go back to a point in time and have to save the future (Saying this with a copy of War of The Ancients complete set nexst to me) would be awesome.

I hope it's Emerald Dream, I want to hear more about the Tauren especially seeing as they are atleast as ancient as the trolls.

I would love to see a expansion where you have to help the titan's take on the old gods. So that Expansion would be killing 2 birds with one stone old god lore and titan lore. Although i wouldn't mind seeing Maelstrom or Emerald Dream/Nightmare.
