The Next Xbox will be called...

No-one is going to refer to a console as the Xbox Infinity. It will be interesting to see if people still call it the 720, or perhaps the Xbox 8.

I was hoping it would be something hilariously bad, like the NeXtbox or Xbox720 or something. This is just kinda 'ehh'. Not that the name really matters, I'll be interested to hear some solid info on features/hardware/services/launch lineup/exclusives and so on.

I say that because it has already been christened by the community as the 720. Everyone talks and thinks of it as the 720. It makes sense from a marketing standpoint to ride that. I see your point though of a circle as infinity. Rather than the symbol a 360 circle can be conceptualised as a line stretching to infinity and all points in a circle are in fact the same point. It also has an infinite number of corners (or 1 depending on what thought you assign too)

And with that logic, in 2006 Nintendo released the much anticipated Nintendo Levolution. That's what it was Christened by gamers back in the day anyway, so it must be true.

It really bothers me how off center that logo is. >_<

OT: Meh. Could have been better, but it really could have been worse. I honestly think it makes sense that they did NOT name it the 720. Everyone was expecting it and when you want to unveil a new console you want audiences to go "Ooh ahh." Not to go "Totally saw that coming."

Now that I think about it think they're going to try and be witty in their personal Microsoft way and call it XBox3 (XBox Cubed). Because it's the 3rd console, and a box is generally a cube like shape herher get it.

'Imaginary' would be a Peter Molyneux project.

I'm going to guess it's because it runs windows 8, and an infinity sign looks like an 8 on its side.

Nintendo initially called the Nintendo "Wii" the Nintendo "Revolution" and then changed its name. Pretty sure if this is Microsofts real name, its less of a mistake then that -_-
