No-one is going to refer to a console as the Xbox Infinity. It will be interesting to see if people still call it the 720, or perhaps the Xbox 8.
Actually, I'm pretty sure it would be the dumbest thing in the universe if they did call it the 720, mainly because that name is horrible.Talshere said:It would literally be the dumbest thing in the universe if they dont call it the 720.
Why go binary, when you can have Hexadecimal?Trivun said:Anyhow, Infinity sounds like a halfway decene tname, though someone else mentioned Binary as a possible future name too? Binary sounds a lot cooler.
So... you just kinda spin round on the spot forever?ToastiestZombie said:Wanna know why it's called the Xbox Infinity?
Because when you see it you turn infinity degrees and walk away.
Excellent reference. You and me should be friends.Zachary Amaranth said:Why go binary, when you can have Hexadecimal?Trivun said:Anyhow, Infinity sounds like a halfway decene tname, though someone else mentioned Binary as a possible future name too? Binary sounds a lot cooler.

Maybe they'll take it in the opposite direction and go xbox zero next... followed by xbox -infinite... THEN they're screwed.Pinkamena said:They sort of wrote them into a corner with that name. What are they gonna call their next console? Xbox infinite plus one?
You expect them to release a console after this?Pinkamena said:They sort of wrote them into a corner with that name. What are they gonna call their next console? Xbox infinite plus one?
And with that logic, in 2006 Nintendo released the much anticipated Nintendo Levolution. That's what it was Christened by gamers back in the day anyway, so it must be true.Talshere said:I say that because it has already been christened by the community as the 720. Everyone talks and thinks of it as the 720. It makes sense from a marketing standpoint to ride that. I see your point though of a circle as infinity. Rather than the symbol a 360 circle can be conceptualised as a line stretching to infinity and all points in a circle are in fact the same point. It also has an infinite number of corners (or 1 depending on what thought you assign too)
It really bothers me how off center that logo is. >_<Chrono212 said:
Would that console count a vapourware? You know, since it's imaginary?danm36 said:I wouldn't mind an XBox√-1, although I think Apple may have a hissy fit about the use of the character 'i' [/mathsjoke]

The machine that may or may not be working, all depending on the viewers angle? All carefully, but albeit sarcastically, sums up todays "throw away and buy a new" market. Genius. Able Seacat, you're good.Able Seacat said:Schrödinger's Xbox?
Honestly, I was hoping for xXxXB0XxXx. But hey, at least we can be disappointed together.Zhukov said:Vaguely wanky, but it could have been a lot worse.
Personally I was hoping for "Xbox 5513".
'Imaginary' would be a Peter Molyneux project.Zachary Amaranth said:Would that console count a vapourware? You know, since it's imaginary?danm36 said:I wouldn't mind an XBox√-1, although I think Apple may have a hissy fit about the use of the character 'i' [/mathsjoke]
And we're going to have to wait forever for the OS to load.AC10 said:I'm going to guess it's because it runs windows 8, and an infinity sign looks like an 8 on its side.
Nintendo initially called the Nintendo "Wii" the Nintendo "Revolution" and then changed its name. Pretty sure if this is Microsofts real name, its less of a mistake then that -_-Talshere said:Yeah no. Xbox infinity might be a service you can get like Xbox live but the console will be called the 720. It would literally be the dumbest thing in the universe if they dont call it the 720.
