Well, I've found my good old Nintendo DS Lite. But, on the flip side, I appear to have lost all my games.
But, I know there are plenty of great games out there for the DS, regardless of its generally bad graphics and whatnot compared to say, the PSP. So, to basically break it down and avoid more of my pointless babble, here's the question: What are some of the good games for the Nintendo DS out there?

Oof, I used to have Hunters, but once you get through the campaign, it's really not got much going for it. The online is dominated by Japanese, and, while there is some replay value, it puts a lot of strain on your wrist to play that game.

What kind of games do you like?

I love my DS because it has some of the best console adventure games (including the famous Phoenix Wright series) as well as a number of good puzzle\brainteaser mingame collections.

Personally, if you don't mind a lot of reading, I'd go for the Ace Attorney series, quality games and my favourite so far for the DS. I don't know if you're old enough to remember the Commodore 64 but they've brought back Bubble Bobble for the DS, both the old skool game and a new version on the one cartridge which is good for a bit of mindless platform-type fun.

The World Ends With You,
Mario Kart DS,
Mario 64 DS (if you don't already have it on the N64)
Animal Crossing
Professor Layton and the Curious Village
Phoenix Wright series (^^)
Pokemon
I could probably think of some more, but it's 1 in the morning, and I've just come back from a party, therefore being tired.

get a cyclo ds or something similar and get this:

http://www.projectaon.org/staff/frederic/index.php

and

http://groups.google.com/group/neods?pli=1

The first is a link to download a homebrew book made game: the Lone Wolf series (remember those choose your own adventure things?).

The second is to get NeoDs, a Neo Geo emulator to run on the ds - all I play these days are awesome old arcade games on the ds.

Oh, and not forgetting:

http://scummvm.drunkencoders.com/

A little program that allows you to play all the old Lucas Arts games like Monkey Island and Day of the Tentacle on the Ds.

This is what you need if you have a ds.

A relatively unheard of game for the DS is Lost Magic. Frankly it's brilliant but monstrously hard.

Then there's the more heard of like LoZ Phantom Hourglass.

Oh yeah, Magical Starsign is good.

-Loz: Phantom Hourglass
-Chrono Trigger
-Professor Layton and the Curious Village
-The World Ends With You
-Geometry Wars: Galaxies
-Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time
-Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (3 games, the original, Justice for All and Trials and Tribulations)
-Metroid Prime: Hunters
-Picross DS (a pretty good puzzle game to kill some time)
-Tony Hawk's Proving Ground
-Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword
-Metal Slug 7
-Final Fantasy IV
-Castlevania (Order of Ecclesia, Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin)
-Yoshi's Island DS
-New Super Mario Bros.
-N+
-Ninjatown

And those are just the games I own. There are alot more.

EDIT: The three games I like the most, are The World Ends With You, Chrono Trigger and Professor Layton and the Curious Village.
Also, Geometry Wars is very addictive, an awesome time-killer too.

This is all very interesting, but how exactly do I get these sorts of things on my DS? It's all really quite confusing for someone who is computer savvy, but not console/gaming savvy...

No one mentioned Trauma Centre yet?? I love that game.
PS: Agree with all the one's mentioned above, especially Proff Layton, Phantom Hourglass and Advanced Wars: Days of Ruin. I'm really enjoying the DS of my little sister, even more so because she has an R4-card \o/
