The Nintendo Gamecube had such a great library of games.

Despite it being the most poor selling console (excluding the Virutal Boy) and not as much third party support, the Gamecube still shined as having one of the steller library of games and exclusives. Some of these games being considered the pinnacle of their franchises, and almost all of Nintendo's franchises at the time were represented here.

Metroid Prime 1 and 2
Resident Evil Remake, Zero, and 4
F-Zero GX
Smash Bros. Melee
Paper Mario Thousand Year Door
Wind Waker and Twilight Princess
Super Mario Sunshine
Pikmin 1 and 2
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes
Animal Crossing
Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 2 and 3
Fire Emblem Path of Radiance
Eternal Darkness Sanity's Requiem
Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2
Luigi's Mansion
And the Gamecube version of Soul Calibur 2 had Link

Even some obscure games were pretty cool like P.N.0.3 and the Gamecube port of Skies of Arcadia from the Dreamcast which also included more features, Baten Kaitos and Lost Kingdoms and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles.

And others like Tales of Symphonia and Wario World and Kirby Air Ride and the Star Fox games and the Mario Sports games and Party games were decent. Heck I argue some Wii games were just Gamecube games on another console since some Wii games still lets you use a Gamecube controller like Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn, Smash Bros Brawl, and Mario Kart Wii.

Like I feel the Gamecube was an example of quality over quantity.

I didn't play all the games on your list, but I played most of them or heard about them. The GameCube games I played the most were Bloody Roar Primal Fury, Sonic Adventure 2, Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2, Ikaruga, and Custom Robo. Skies of Arcadia I never got around to, nor Tales of Symphonia either. Tales of Symphonia is easier and cheaper to get than the former.

Well, it had Resident Evil 4 and Wind Waker, two of my favourite games ever.
Boooooo!!!
I like it, and hey for the time it was something, a Metal Gear Game on a Nintendo Console no less.

And yes I like the exaggerated Matrix level cutscenes. I mean for fuck's sake Metal Gear Solid was always crazy with stuff. MGS2 had Raiden shooting down a bunch of RAYs in his own, and Doc Ock Solidus Snake.

MGS 3 had a man that can control hornets and a man that can conduct Lightning.

MGS 4 had Ninja Raiden.

The Gamecube sales were tiny, but damn that consoles library was mighty...

I hope a Gamecube Mini gets released at some point.
Sadly I don't know if some of the third party games will be included in such a console.

Like Star Wars Rogue Leader and P.N.0.3. and Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes.

I guess I agree, but I'd also agree about every console. Like, if I was sent back in time and could tell myself which of the PS2/Xbox/GC I should buy, I definitely wouldn't say the GC. The PS2 library was just way more impressive overall. Sure there were a lot more crap, but good game are easy to tell apart from crap. I guess if the scenario was to get the console and a fully random selection of games, the GC would be a better choice.

And then we had Ninja Raiden: The Game. Which is for me, the best metal gear game ever made. A better Ninja Gaiden game then 2 and 3/Razors Edge.

If I had to choose from the start which console to pick, it be the Xbox original. Because a lot of the games it shared with the PS2 just played better on the Xbox. Like Grand Theft Auto San Andreas is unplayable on the PS2 these days. The Xbox version had a much better control scheme and it ran better.

It's why my brother I got both consoles. We shared ours for a time, but eventually we both got our own PS2s. he liked some of the games on GameCube, but he didn't care that much for the consoles library overall.

I went for the Gamecube in that generation of consoles. But after a couple of years the releases completely dried up and I ended up getting an Xbox. I preferred the Gamecube to the Xbox though, shame it wasn't successful.

Well yeah, it can't be denied that the Gamecube had an extremely strong 1st party lineup. 3rd party less so, tho there were a number of high tier titles, with good showings from Capcom and Sega in particular, and multiplats usually looked and ran better than their PS2 counterparts (and often roughly on par with og Xbox). Never really got why so many people are enamored with the Gamecube controller tho. Never felt great to me. I love it and the console itself's build quality tho. They have a very solid and durable feel to them.
Despite it being the most poor selling console (excluding the Virutal Boy)
Gotta be a little nitpicky here, but there's plenty console that sold worse than the Gamecube. Like all of Sega's except the Genesis. Or all of Atari's except the 2600. Unless you meant worst selling Nintendo console, cuz, eh, Wii U.

The original fat Xbox controller was way worse. I'm not saying the GameCube controller with the best, but I rarely ever had any problems with it. Just find me have a big hands, the OG Xbox controller is freaking ridiculous. They had to make slimmer models of the controller just to release them. And even though still felt too big at times.

I just enjoyed that someone mentioned Baten Kaitos. A game with many flaws, but it was just a beautiful game to look at with interesting gameplay. And some of the oddest roller coaster sound design decisions in a game ever. Awful voice acting, some good music, some awful song choices... very little mediocre about it. It was either great or terrible sound design choices and nothing in between. A really interesting world, with a predictable story. And visuals... at a time when games elsewhere were all trying to out grittily brown each other, Baten Kaitos was a much needed Technicolor contrast.

Definitely agree. Bought the console for RE Remake and the (then to be announced exclusive) RE4. Enjoyed a lot of other games on the system as well espescially the Metroid Prime games or unique action games like Viewtiful joe. Wasn't the biggest fan of wind waker but loved Twilight princess. Which I guess was more popular on Wii but started development on Gamecube(which you can tell as the latter quarter of the game seems specifically tailored for wii controls with the overly abundant chain hook sections).

Those double hook shot sections still worked fine on the Gamecube. Skyward Sword was the Zelda game built from the ground up for the Wii.

Still got my gamecube, and god damn, some of the games on there...

- Battalion Wars
- Custom Robo
- Lost Kingdoms
- Star Wars: The Clone Wars
- Tales of Symphonia
- Time Splitters 2

When the games weren't exclusive, the ports tended to be way better. And in The Clone Wars' example, way more stable. My PS2 save of the game wiped for no reason, 1-2 missions before the end of the game. Heck!

Argh. Thought you were wrong but Wikipedia reports Gamecube 22 million units sold to the Wii U's 14. Too bad. Wii U has an incredible library with terrific looking games.

As much as I like the Wii U, I lost interest in it, unlike the Switch. hell, I ended up trading my Wii u for a switch, because I knew most of the games I bought on that system would appear on a future system and I was right. I had some minor regrets, but those were days were long gone by 2018.
