The "Obscure Reference" Game

Though I am still relatively new to the escapist, I have discovered a trend while wandering about the forums.

My fellow Escapists, you love obscure references.

Here is your chance to prove just how odd or vague your past gaming experiences have been. I want you to post references from past games you have played, and make them as unanswerable as possible.

Some rules:

1. Give at least one hint. It can also be vague.

2. Make it specific to one game.

3. If it was played exclusively on Apple computers back in the mid-90's, kudos.

Alright, I'll give it a shot, can't guarentee the greatest of obscurity.

1) It was a FIGHTING game that couldn't give normal directions and instead replaced the PS controls with frickin' letters.

2) It contained at least two or three very well known Square characters

You have to press the key to transform into an eagle if you want to get anywhere but be careful as it will use up your energy.

Edit: When you are not an eagle you put on your cloak and wizards hat.
