The "old" Facebook

Ever since i joined Facebook everyone has been complaining about how good the "old" Facebook was and that they want it back.
What is the difference between the "old" Facebook and the one we have today?

Not much really in terms of functionality... The "new" fb added chat, commenting within the news feed, stuff like this - nothing too revolutionary... It's mostly the layout, I think - the change was gradual, but if you compared the current fb to what it was 3 years ago, you'd see how dramatic the changes were. And the layout was the main complaint when the change was taking place. I'm guessing most of the old facebookers was just used to using the old version.

The only "old" Facebook I know of is before they allowed anyone to join. It'd be nice if they went back to only college emails, but that's never gonna happen. They make way too much money these days.

The new version is way better, but people wont accept change without a fight.

Like youtube. Although to be honest, the new channels do suck.

kinda, but the new channels has some good things.

pros:
- easy to scroll through videos and favorites.
- larger pages for subs (more subs per page).
- videos can be watched directly from the channel.

cons:
- annoying placement of stuff like the profile.
- hard to get used to.
- ruins playlists.

I don't mind. It was odd to get used too at first, and the news feed doesn't seem to work properly, but the live feed works fine. I think they should have kept the highlights thing down the side though, that was always useful for seeing friends photo albums or whatever.

The new version is way better, but people wont accept change without a fight.

The only problem I have with the very newest one is that the damn news feed often malfunctions since the latest update. The one before it worked fine, and now my news feed is usually blank and missing loads of the buttons. Great programming job guys...

Other than that it's just the usual fear of change that most humans seem to experience. It's kind of sad to realise that changing the aesthetics of a website is enough to remove people from their comfort zones.

they added the chat, they changed how your news feed works. the news feed now auto-refreshes every few minutes or so.

they also changed the layout of things as well, really making the interface better over all

I get sick of people complaining about it, they all join groups saying "I hate the Facebook Layout CHANGE IT BACK!"

The complain about it when it changes again!
