I've got a situation right now that probably fits the bill. I suppose since things are kind of ambiguous he hasn't "gotten away" necessarily, but I still feel like I may have messed things up.

I met him by chance about a month and a half ago and fell head over heels (guys with guitars and nice voices tend to have that effect on me). He invited me to dinner the following week, which went pretty well I thought since afterward he came to my place and we talked a bit. A few weeks ago I invited him to drinking with my friends and we all went to karaoke. I haven't heard from him since then though and I'm afraid I might have missed my chance to, as they say, strike while the iron is hot.

Christmas Eve is a huge day for couples in this country and I'm getting more and more anxious about it since I figure if he doesn't contact me by then it's pretty much off.

I did. In high-school there was a girl who had a crush for me, but I just didn't realize it at the time.

Then just before I graduated from college I realized I really liked her, but then she moved to Spain to pursue her dancing career, since she became so good that Denmark couldn't get her any further.

Sigh, how I regret not pursuing her.

This one time, I was out fishing with some friends, and suddenly we could feel something heavy on the line. We all tried to pull it up, but we failed. Then, pulling with all our might, we could suddenly feel something come loose; and up came the line with a small white thing - reminiscent of a tongue - attached to the hook. I still don't know if we ever had a real fish on the hook, or if it was just a sea-plant.

What do you mean that isn't relevant to the thread?

The first girl I got in a serious relationship with. Ended about a year ago, mostly due to my screwed up sleep-squeduel.

No girl has ever been interested in me as far as I know. So no love lost for me.

I'm generally seen as the guys thats fun to be around etc, but never for a relationship. Just one of the few downsides of being me. Might be because im a bit infamous too, so my hope lies out of my hometown lol

Had to let someone go last year during my rowing season. I went to the National tryouts. Though I did well, I couldn't get over the fact that I hadn't made it. I became really edgy for a few weeks and began to have some weird things happen (the most notable of which was seeing things, which I still can't explain, ie seeing people talking in a picture). We had been talking quite a lot before that (not really going out, but you know... the preliminary stage) but after the tryouts we just... stopped. I'm better at accepting defeat now (though I'm still a stubborn son of a *****) but I can't get over the fact that I let go of someone with whom I could have had a great time.

Can't say I've never "made the move" so to speak, always one to seize the person if desired. I've had several relationships I really wish would've worked out a bit better than they did, but these things happen for a reason and all...
