Or so I need to convince the library staff in college, because there is now a subscription that I cannot afford to pay.

Is there any feasible way of doing this, or should I just give up?

Convince them that, while they do poke fun at the world, that fun is based on and centered around true, real world events and issues.

Tell them that they have a quirky way of inverting media bias.

Alternatively, tell them that they actually raise issues and force you to think (the "You Need To Vomit Right Now" story actually made me think of how I'd respond to an authority asking me to do something without explanation, no real news story ever did that).

Alternatively, tell them that Jonathon Swift would approve.

Not to mention, there have been a few times where life (specifically politics) has imitated the Onion, inadvertantly I'm sure, but it's a great piece for perspective on satire vs reality.

Yeah, you're doomed. You can usually keep abreast of the newest stories at literallyunbelievable.org, though.
