Hello Escapists,

Please describe to me what mix of TWO or THREE games YOU would want to see made, or think would be an excellent idea.

For example, I would very much like to have a mix of the Half-Life and Portal series, which would probably result in something like Half-Life with fifty times the number of puzzles it already has, using portals! The fact that they're supposedly set in the same "universe" doesn't hurt either.

Specifications: you don't necessarily have to merge the stories of the two games, this is mostly about gameplay mechanics. You can keep the story of one or of neither, if you wish to make up an original one (do tell us about it though). :)

P.S. Is it normal that I keep getting the same capcha all the time? Courtyard Marriot?

Mass Effect and XCOM: Enemy Unknown.

Characters and dialogue from the former with combat from the latter. So the battles would play the same as XCOM, but you'd be controlling proper characters instead of random soldiers.

Pokemon and Guild wars 2
A pokemon game with real-time combat and a massive world to explore, who wouldn't want that?

Open world combined with gear-centric progression in an Action RPG. So like Fallout/TES combined with Diablo/Borderlands. Give me a metric ton of content to explore, and then give me sweet loots for doing it.

Halo/Battlefield/Call of Duty, and any RTS game ever.

Think about it. You get to command an entire army in battle, but then switch to the perspective of any one of your soldiers at any point and have the game become an FPS or TPS, with the management of your army moved to the control of the game's AI. That way, you can have an idea of general strategy while at the same time being able to control directly any difficult skirmishes on the ground. When in FPS/TPS mode, you could also still give orders to other squads, but wouldn't have the benefit of seeing where they are or what their situation is.

I realise that the artificial intelligence would have to be extremely good for this to work, though, so I guess it's not a game we could see happening anytime soon. Still, it'd be pretty awesome to have. Multiplayer or co-op would allow several players, with one taking the role of general and others being soldiers leading squads, that can recieve orders and choose whether or not to follow them from the general player. Switches would take place with mutual consent between players. Expansions or DLC could be naval combat or aerial combat, as well as added missions and such, and combat could range from medieval warfare all the way to futuristic battles...

Well we take the mystery elements of Persona 4 and put them into every single game we can. Persona 4 has the best mystery story ever made. Full stop.

Or you could take the free running stuff from Mirror's Edge and put it into something. That was too good to let simply die out in my opinion.

I'm one of those crazy people who enjoyed having a face full of wall though.

1) Alien Soldier gameplay:

+ Legacy of Kain writing:

= WIN

2)Alternative: Dungeon Keeper Base Management + [Sacrifice creature summoning + Alien Soldier fast paced control] + [Legacy of Kain writing + Friedrich Nietzsche "Ubermench" and Eternal Recurrence (predestination like in LoK)] + Metroidvania (Order Of Eclesia) with random generated terrain per New Game (sort of like Roguelikes like Spelunky)

Random soldiers?! You can customize your soldiers and make their own backstory using your imagination. Who needs set characters when you have that! :3

You are obsessed, get help. Anyway I think that every game should be baldur's gate and that any games that aren't baldur's gate should be burnt to a crisp! :D

But that backstory for your big burly tank guy gets all kinds of weird when he randomly grows a vagina.

Well can you write essays on how good Baldur's Gate characters are? Cuz I can write essays on Persona 4 characters easy. This makes me automatically win obviously.

Naoto: The Well-written Gal in a Sweet Hat.
Brosuke: The Homophobe with a Heart of Gold.

So on and so forth. I'm not obsessed, really i'm not. Have I mentioned that the dungeon and boss designs are so rad? Because the dungeon and boss designs are super rad.

They did that in Black Ops 2, they called them, "Strike Force" missions. They sucked because the AI is terrible but apart from that, it's exactly what you described.

OT: Conversations from Alpha Protocol (refined slightly), moral decisions from The Walking Dead and Mass Effect 1.Think of how awesome that would be!

I agree, you must be obsessed. That said, if you are going to be obsessed with anything, persona is a good thing to be obsessed with. I mean, you could be obsessed with pokemon or something. How lame.
OT: Pokemon mixed with any mmo, but keeping the turn based combat. Or pokemon mixed with a SMT game- either the nocturne/digital devil style of battles, or persona. Heck, shooting yourself in the head to summon a pikachu would be awesome.

Worst essays ever my essays have at least 2 sentences in them :) also good dungeon design in P4 are you crazy yeah they are better than P3 and some have nice themes (the 8 bit castle was my favourite) but the actual dungeons are piss poor worst part of the game by far imo random corridors does not = fantastic design its not that bad and it definitely dosent ruin the game but I would hardly call them (super) rad.

OT: er Final Fantasy VII characters in an arc systems/capcom/SNK fighting game keeping the limit break system as the comeback system/super gauge and characters have different materia that give them magical effects i.e projectiles additional commands and or buffs/abililties basically a gem system that dosent suck and all of it is available from the off (no DLC ones unless they are free). Whats that P4 arena with FFVII characters yeah basically although P4 characters would be my second choice and it exists hurrah.... unless you live in Europe/Oceania like me damn.

Sounds a bit like battalion wars to me.

OT: Pokemon + RPG
MMO would be even better.

Technically speaking, it already is or was being made.

Dynasty Warriors-style combat (except with actual weight behind the swings from what it looks like), with a Mount & Blade-style ability to raise and lead an army into combat and sort of issue orders to them while you're still personally weighing in on the combat in the front lines.

Unfortunately there hasn't really been any new information on it in a long time and there's conflicting information about whether it would be a full-fledged MMO or not. And if it's an MMO, then I'm SOL.

But of course, who the hell would want a single-player game like that, right guys? Only MMOs can make money for those Korean developers.

Devil May Cry and Dynasty Warriors nothing says win like destroying entire armies in one very stylish combo. Do I need to say more?
