The Problem With Upcoming Titles & New Releases

It's almost that time once again when a big well known developer cranks out a new title in their series. Example: Bioware [Mass Effect 3]. It's here where all the gamer extremist/fanatics won't stop nagging about EVERY INSIGNIFICANT PART OF THE GAME! It's like they're riding the game's dick before it even comes out (We all saw what happened with Skyrim). They ask some of the most inane questions in the world about the game.I'll give you some examples:

1) What's you favorite race/class to use in _____ game?
(Who gives a damn?)

2) What's your favorite weapon to use in _____ game?
(Again totally irrelevant)

3)What's your favorite armor type in ____ game?
(Again what does it matter what I'm wearing?)

4) Are you going to buy this _____ game?
(Why do you care whether or not I buy the game or not? Are you going to play it with me? NO probably not)

5) What do really like to do in _____ game?
(I'm sorry I didn't know we were on a date....)

6) Do you like playing the paragon or renegade side in ______ game?
(Pepsi or Coke? Who cares? Not me)

I mean hell some people still have Skyrim's balls in their mouth and now want Mass Effect 3 to shove it's dick into their mouths as well. Don't get me wrong I like Skyrim but I don't have the need to tell every random stranger about it because it becomes bothersome real fast. Was Skyrim a good game overall? Yes. Overrated? Definitely! Better than Oblivion? No but still excellent quality. Mass Effect series? Good games I've played and beat both (Whoopity Doo!! nothing special about that).

I just don't feel the need to gush on and on about the damn game that's all. Every time I see someone doing that it reminds me of those sad bastards on Facebook that HAVE TO TELL YOU ABOUT EVERY BORING LITTLE DETAIL OF THEIR DAY!!!. They have to show you what they ate. They have to tell you where they're at. I mean geez give it a rest people.....

Haha. That is funny actually. Because I find very ironic that now you're complaining about other people complaining about other people. And to set the record straight, I wasn't necessarily bad mouthing Mass Effect 3 in anyway. My point was about the sheer fanaticism people show towards new releases in general. Mass Effect 3 just happened to an easy example to target because it's that new game the fanatics won't stop talking about. When Skyrim was released, the entire front forum page was just raped with ever constant topics about Skyrim.

So what do you want to discuss?
Skyrim?
Skyrim?
Or Skyrim?

Eh, I'd rather read about someone's favourite weapon in _____ game than someone complaining about all the people talking about their favourite weapon in _____ game, especially if the latter insists on peppering their posts with inelegant genital references like some kind of second-rate Yahtzee.

Oh I'm sorry I didn't know Yahtzee copyrighted those phrases. I'll make sure to better research those next time and hopefully Yahtzee won't sue me. Clearly you're not a normal gamer. As stated before, you're one of those mentioned gaming fanatic/extremist who just loves and lives on inane chatter about anything related to your favorite game. And by the way if you're going to attempt to insult somebody, use spell check next time genius.....It's spelled favorite not favourite.

"Not a normal gamer", eh?

Horrors above! However will I cope with such a dreadful accusation!?

Also, not every english-speaker on this planet uses the same spelling conventions. In the Commonwealth countries it's spelt "favourite", complete with a bonus "u" [http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/favourite]. So if the best you can do is attempt to nitpick someone's spelling, then get your fucking facts straight first... genius.

Oh wow! A No True Scotsman fallacy! Classy! I don't know why you're complaining about this on a gaming forum. WTH are we supposed to discuss that won't piss you off? If you don't like it then I suggest making your own threads with something you think is more substantial or go on another forum.

And if you're going to call someone out on their spelling then at least make sure what you're correcting is actually incorrect.

No those threads don't piss me off at all actually. The point I'm trying to make here is what is purpose of having a forum if the first 3-5 pages are being constantly bombarded with the same topic which could easily be put into a 3-5 individual threads themselves and not 3-5 pages going over EVERY single aspect of the game itself. Somebody might have a real question about something and it won't get answered because there's 28 threads above it about Call of Duty drowning it out...

Yeah and we call people where you're from retards anyway. Well you're coping pretty well with the accusation seeing how you've kept your head so well planted up your ass so far because you're such a classy fucking person clearly. Nitpicking? Well aren't you the pot calling the kettle black. Yeah I'll let you get back to your videogame Jihad and so you can put the balls of your whatever videogame you're drooling over back into your mouth because you just made it quite clear you love talking about nothing.
Oh look, another angry child swearing like a schoolboy on the internet.

How very novel.

I'd say my work here is done.

They don't piss you off? Really? What's with all the anger then? That's what discussing a game is; discussing the different aspects of it. If you make a thread and it's interesting then it will usually get a response. The other threads are irrelevant.

While I understand the sentiment of the OP and personally don?t find myself attracted to those kinds of topics, I don?t see any harm in them in either. You and I, Wandering_Demon, (and others) may find topics like these (What?s your favorite X?) uninteresting in general, but you have to remember that flip side of the coin - what you and I actually find to be interesting some others will view as a complete, boring waste of time. You need to give a little leeway for variety in your fellow human beings.

Plus, these topics, for the most part, aren?t really examples of being extremist. They are examples of extreme like and extreme satisfaction with the product in question. But these topics aren?t hard-line, judgmental statements of ?if you don?t like this game then you?re a fucking moron who should never be allowed to have contact with other human beings just in case your stupidity might spread like a virus and infect the whole planet?. Now, topics that perpetuate that kind of attitude are extremist and need to die very quick deaths.

Also, I just don?t understand why it?s a problem that people post these topics. I get that you simply may not have a tolerance for things that you personally don?t like/don?t want to see, but what is the intrinsic problem at hand? In other words, what, if any, is the real problem at work here ? the one that exists outside of your personal perception and is a fundamental truth which subsequently shaped your attitude towards these topics? What exactly are these topics doing to erode the integrity (or whatever) of the site? If it simply comes down to the fact that you don?t like them, then once again, give a little leeway. Your mouse scroll won?t hold it against you if you use it.

Edit: I just saw your response concerning condensing the various topics into a more manageable format and that makes perfect sense. However, I have to agree with Hazy992 about the anger ? it?s all over your OP. Plus, you never mentioned condensing the topics and seemed more focused on being insulting to anyone and everyone that makes and participates in them, so I?m going to let my post stand as is, even with the logical clarification.

It's called sharing and comparing your experiences. This is how every conversation progresses, be it about games, politics, school, anything. If you believe one can hold a conversation based on no questions or answers, your conversation is one-sided.

Literally all of my gaming conversations are very fun, because they are based on mine and my conversational partner's experiences, likes and dislikes of the game in question. Big name games are more likely to come up in a gaming forum because they are being played by more people, and so more people can get in on the conversation. Think about how much fun a conversation would be if all you talked about were indie titles that no one else has heard of, much less played.

You're losing focus of what I'm saying by focusing on what you perceive as anger and it's not. That's not it at all. It's not so much what they talk about, it's the high frequency of repetition at which it occurs. It's when 50 different people post the same thread about what's your most used perk in Call of Duty or something that bothers me. Why do we need 50 threads of not similar but the EXACT same topic? I don't necessarily have to be angry to still find it to be a nuisance.

Seriously, dude? You are just going to insult somebody over the internet because he doesn't spell a word like you? And you did that because he called you out the first time you insulted them based on spelling?

But we're not! We're discussing the different aspects of the game! If people make the EXACT same topic then people tell them they shouldn't be doing that and they're pointed towards the other thread. You're not only complaining about something that's not even happening to the extent you're saying, but you ARE getting angry and you're being insulting.

"Now the world don't moooove to the beat of just one drum,
what might be right for you may not be right sooome!"

I wouldn't bother posting in threads like that but it doesn't mean other people shouldn't make them.

And saying "Yeah and we call people where you're from retards anyway."? Real classy.

I hope you realise how petty and pathetic your argument is, because at least then you can claim ironic intent. Sadly you obviously missed it entirely.

To clarify, in your bid to enlighten the escapist community to generic and redundant threads you in fact made another generic redundant thread. This category of bitchiness is very commonly seen on this site, usually in threads claiming other threads are stupid for, unsurprisingly, stupid reasons.

Also, for a person who clearly prefers to lurk rather then post, you have some gall to tell people what constitutes good posting etiquette. This is by no means a knock at your post count or join date, rather an observation towards your own contribution to this site. In 70+ posts you managed to generate a post that is purely inflammatory and obviously intended to demean other members of the community... and you also likely have been reported at least once in this topic alone.

We like to discuss games here.
It's the point of the gaming forum.
And, because games like Skyrim have so many different kinds of playthrough styles, it's nice to know what experiences other people have.
