You just floored me man. With the funny meaning.

The second ad is inferior for the reason John mentioned. It moves away from the concept. It does not compare with the first or the one with a PS3 being slingshoted at a TV.

I had seen these on TV over past couple days, and frankly it's getting to the point of almost wanting to actually buy a PS3 if only to show support for Kevin Butler.

You, sir, are brilliant with a dash of genius and a pinch of BOOM.
Why thank you sir, on the advertisement though I've got to say it's quite memorable advert.
I may have made a avatar of it but my friend had enough love for this ad to place a stick next to his PS3. Odd...But that's my friend for ya.

He's no longer allowed near my PS3 however, I fear he may stick C4 on it.

That ad made me think that the PS3 can spread Michael Bay's movie to another audience. I no longer want a PS3...

I don't think Bay deserves all the crap he gets. The first Transformers movie was good as long as you ignore Shia and Megan and while The Island had a lot of stupid scenes, the premise was awesome.

LEAVE BAY ALONE!!!!!!!!!!! WAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!(If you don't get the joke, too bad)

I'm amazed at how effective these campaigns are. Normally Sony have proven to be completely incompetent at selling ANYTHING without completely screwing it up (PSP Squirrel).

I actually don't like the new PS3 Slim, takes too much away without adding enough, but I'm happy with my old PS3 60GB and online upgrades mean now there is a decent selection of videos on PSN (in europe) and I can just buy them direct without any of that point buying bullshit you get on 360, which just makes it hard to figure out exactly what you are paying.

Then I'm liking PS3's easy to upgrade HDD combined with PlayTV which is such a better way of watching TV, and blu-rays are finally selling for sane prices (£8-12) and I'm looking to be getting an actual HD capable monitor (1080p) which have also come down to sane prices.

Against all my predictions PS3 is becoming my favourite platform, second only to my PC (luvs mah PC) and my 360 is becoming... well it's lost a lot of it's shine.

I love these commercials, the 2nd one wasn't all that great, but I can't stop laughing at the "WITH A STICK" comment.

Ugh. It's such a shame video-game ads like these never seem to appear on Australian television.

No, instead we have to put up with Super Amart shouting in our faces, local car company ads where the kids of the guy who runs it say repulsively cute yet weirdly capitalistic things like "we'll getcha covered", and Harvey Norman (or Hardly Normal, as I like to call them) competing with Amart for the Yelling of the Year Award. It's painful, to say the least. My remote's "mute" button is very well-worn.

I should also point out that it's very odd that we have so many video-game advertising articles on The Escapist these days. Are we slipping into some form of implied advertising to refill the magazine's coffers? If so, that's a shame. Even if some of the better ads actually are quite entertaining... and the better the PS3 ads are, the less deserted my PSN will be.
